Do you have a coaching business or a coaching job? Everyone aspires to have a well-paid and stress-free job, but it's very rare to get both. If you have a business, specifically a coaching one, then that allows you the freedom to work as much or as little as you want. So, if you feel like you're chasing a million-dollar business or don't want the stress of a million-dollar business then all you need is Five Clients and a Telephone!
In today's episode, I explain the Five Clients and a Telephone strategy to grow a 6-figure business. I demonstrate how easily your income can be scaled based on the number of clients you have. "I've seen people spend $12,000 on, you know, weekend mastermind or an appointment with a life coach who was going to destroy a limiting belief that’s costing them hundreds of thousands in a lifetime.” - Matthew Kimberley

Time Management for Coaches and How to Prioritize Sales
How To Get A Grip

MFC004 - Time management for coaches and how to prioritize sales
As a coach, you are typically wearing all of the hats when it comes to running your business. From creating sales funnels and marketing campaigns to vetting leads, booking clients, and creating programs, it is up to you - the coach - to buckle down and get it done, especially when you’re just starting out. But, as a solo entrepreneur, what frequently happens is you begin to focus on the wrong things. You get distracted with the next shiny new object or fall into a productivity trap, constantly chasing your tail until you eventually burn out.
So, how can a solo coach better manage their time, prioritize sales, and focus on the things that are most important and will move the needle in the right direction?
Today, I discuss why it’s critical for coaches to prioritize sales and how you can manage your time in a way that supports your business for many years to come. I discuss how corporate organizations structure and prioritize tasks within their businesses in a way to get the right things done and how many coaches are prioritizing their daily tasks in a way that will eventually lead to reduced productivity and decreased efficiency. I also explain how prioritizing sales and marketing before delivery of services and administrative tasks can impact your business and what this process could look like in your coaching business.
“If you are wearing too many hats, what typically happens is that you focus on the wrong things and end up in a productivity trap.”- Matthew Kimberley

MFC003 - A Red Velvet Rope Policy for your coaching business
Have you ever heard of the Red Velvet Rope Policy? If you’ve read Book Yourself Solid, you’re already familiar with this term - and may even have a rough idea of what this policy consists of. But for many coaches, the Red Velvet Rope Policy can still be quite confusing.
What exactly is the Red Velvet Rope Policy? Why is it considered the single most essential and most luxurious policy every coach needs to have in their business arsenal?
In today’s episode, I explain what the Red Velvet Rope Policy is and why it is a critical item for every coaching business. I explain how the Red Velvet Rope Policy helps you filter new clients, allowing only those who energize and inspire you. I discuss how the Red Velvet Rope Policy ensures everyone involved in your coaching business has the absolute best experience possible and share examples of Red Velvet Rope Policy successes and failures. I highlight the fears and misconceptions many coaches have about enforcing a Red Velvet Rope Policy in their coaching business and discuss why it is critical for coaches to accept the responsibility of actively looking for reasons why working with a prospective client may not work. I also share strategies you can use to incorporate the Red Velvet Rope Policy assessment into your discovery session conversation.

Whether you’re just getting started as a coach or you’re already established in the field, consistently attracting more clients is key to building a sustainable, enjoyable business. Every coach enters the industry with dreams of growing their coaching business and creating massive impact in their communities, but in order to continue to create that impact and generate increased profits, we need to step outside of our comfort zones and embrace marketing strategies that will resonate with our ideal clients.

How Much Should You Give Away For Free?
How To Get A Grip
01/25/21 • 11 min
Is there a point to joining a coaching program if all the information is freely accessible? It may seem that there is no need to pay a coach if all the information is freely available, but no one is paying for information. What truly makes a coach valuable is their perspective and insight that cannot come from passively reading information.
In this episode, I talk about why it’s better to give away your highly valuable information. I clarify why a coach’s services are still valuable despite giving away free information. I also discuss why appealing to your client’s emotional side is just as important as their logical side.
“You’re never paying for the information; you’re paying for the result that comes with the information.”
-Matthew Kimberley
This week on Book Yourself Solid® Marketing For Coaches Podcast:
- Why you want to give away highly valuable information
- The only instances where information is a highly traded commodity
- Pre-framing the value of the information you give away
- What is passive consumption?
- How a coach is still relevant if all the valuable information is freely accessible
- The importance of appealing to the emotional and logical sides of a client
- Being able to present the same information in multiple ways
