#28. Who Are You Really?
08/22/22 • 9 min
A concept that I've been fascinated with over the last couple of years (& particularly over the last couple of weeks) is dis-identification with your ego (the idea of your self).
Being overly wrapped up in ego or persona is, how I see it, the biggest cause of the suffering (worry, anxiety, depression) that so many of us struggle with today.
If you can step into the spaciousness needed to recognise that you are not the ego/persona - but are in fact the consciousness that observes it - everything changes.
I begin this episode by reading a short extract from probably my favourite book - 'The Untethered Soul' by Michael Singer - before delving into my interpretation of the text.

#27. Take a Minute
It’s easy to begin each day & each week in reaction mode.
To be immediately consumed by work, emails, social media, the news, life.
But to always live in reaction mode is a problem.
It means you never allow yourself the space to assess & reflect.
Which makes it near impossible to create meaningful change in your life.
Take a minute to slow down today.
Take a deep breath.
Get clear on your intentions.
And go from there.
