After surviving two major depressions, the last time coming within five minutes of losing his life, Ray Hurst, or as he’s often referred to “Papa Ray”, is now passionate about teaching people how to change the meaning of what happened in their past, so it will not be a part of their future.

Papa Ray has been married to the same amazing woman for 36+ years, he is an international speaker and coach, a pastor, missionary, author, artist, and poet. He has started and operated three companies and a ministry.

Ray is now building a local and national outreach to raise awareness of absent and abusive fathers. His first book, “Daddy, Why Don’t You Love Me?” will be published before year-end. There is a version for sons and another for daughters.

As a coach and mentor, he guides people into having a major life-changing breakthrough within a few hours. Papa Ray wants to be for the world what the world was not for him when he most needed to be free from the abuse he experienced.

He is also working on a community action program to help people understand emotional awareness.

Episode 79 – Don’t Ever Give Up!!!

Don’t ever give up!!! Are words of encouragement I’ve often given to the guy or gal who’s ready to quit or just give up. Or, they say “there’s no hope for me – I’ve tried everything”.

My guest on the show this week is Greg McAlpin, who resides in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota metro, is an entrepreneur who today owns a successful residential and commercial painting contractor business that’s thriving – after emerging from a massive debt load.

Greg went through 13 – yes, 13 treatment programs. In his own words, “he figured out how to not drink for 12 years but he was a dry drunk, without life change. He was miserable, and he went back out drinking.

Today, he’s been clean and sober for 7 1/2 years and now proudly claims success in his pursuit of recovery. He has relationships that have been restored, his family trusts him again, his business is booming, and he’s leading a faith-focused recovery program that’s allowing him to thrive!

Finding a Deeper Purpose Led Me Down the Road to Recovery

Clay Hodges is an entrepreneur, trader, yogi, and the founder of Ronin Forex Group, who resides in Nashville, Tennessee. He grew up in rural Kentucky, often referred to as the heart of the opioid crisis in the United States.

He became addicted to painkillers and then traveled extensively, and moved around a lot, in an effort to cope with his failures to get and stay clean and sober. Traveling from the mountain ski-slopes in the winter to the fast-moving rivers in the summer, he would escape to nature but those efforts continued to fail him and repeated overdoses really took their toll.

His road to recovery started in 2012 but it wasn’t until 2016 when he completely surrendered and his true recovery began. Following multiple overdoses and near-death experiences, Clay has used spirituality and mindfulness to learn how to face and overcome severe drug addiction.

After going “all in” on his health and wellbeing, he has accumulated more than five years of recovery. Today, Clay helps other people find freedom in their life by guiding them on their way around the financial markets while developing a healthy mindset and positive work ethic.

Clay launched Ronin Forex in 2017 by creating a Telegram channel for trade setup analysis and signal services. Since then, he has created a complete Forex training to show all of his members the strategies and techniques he has used to pass his funding challenges and stay consistently profitable in the markets.

Today he has students from all over the world learning and trading Forex alongside him and the rest of the community. Most of his students in the community refer to him simply as Ronin - a wandering samurai who has no lord or master.
