086: How Being Vulnerable Can Build Your Business
04/19/22 • 11 min
Is vulnerability a sign of weakness or strength?
Today's topic is vulnerability in business and how this can be harnessed to become a huge part of your power.
I was recently pushed out of my comfort zone when I had my new brand photos taken. I chose an amazing photographer whose passion for filming women in their authenticity is something that really aligned with my own message, and I really love the end result.
However, seeing myself in the photos really brought to the fore some negative feelings about ageing.
Whilst I loved the pictures, I found myself focussing on my wrinkles and feeling vulnerable.
Instead of suppressing these feelings, I knew I wanted to share them with others. I wanted to step into my vulnerability and share my authenticity.
But how radical do we need to get with this authenticity? Where is the line?
Of course it is completely individual, but one thing is true - when you start to become very authentic and are vulnerable, your ability to reach people and resonate with them goes far beyond any swipe message you could post.
When I'm on social media I, like many others, love a filter. I won't pretend I don't use them - we're all quite used to them now. But does it make me inauthentic if I use them? No, it doesn't. We all like to present ourselves in the best possible light and if a filter is available to give us a confidence boost then why not? I'm completely transparent about the fact I love them!
Do what makes you happy and be authentic in being yourself, whatever that means.
And remember that having the guts to talk about your vulnerabilities is powerful. Don't be afraid to lean into complex subjects and discuss the feelings that arise from them.
What is something that you can share with your audience?
Enjoy the listen!

My guest today has been dubbed the 'Millennial Money Witch' by Forbes, but you may know her better as Jessie DaSilva. Her 3-point formula to monetary success has its roots in magic - yep, that's right, she isn't called the money witch for nothing!
An intuitive mindset coach and business consultant, she helps entrepreneurs start and scale businesses, helps CEOs create supportive business cultures that increase profits and retain top talent, and helps unhappy employees find their dream jobs at dream companies for dream pay.
She combines business and marketing strategy with her intuitive and academic knowledge of money manifestation to help entrepreneurs connect with their wealthiest, most abundant lives.
Jessie is a vibrant, go-getting businesswoman who took the leap and embraced her woo woo side in business, and she now encourages others to do the same.
Of course everybody's version of woo woo is different - dancing, spirituality, mindfulness, astrology - and who cares if it's just a placebo? If it works, it works, so embrace it!
In this week's chat with Jessie we discuss:
>> Using your intuition to guide your own unique version of success
>> How embracing her witchy side inspired her successful rebrand
>> Rituals to attract money into your life
You don't need fancy spell work, you just need intention, so start by checking out the moon cycle and setting your intentions...let's see what success the universe will bring you!

087: The Power of Brand Design With Elizabeth Averyanova
Just how important is branding and design when building your coaching business?
...answer: very!
It can be the difference between booking a six-figure contract and - well - not!
Brand design is a hugely intrinsic part of levelling up your brand and attracting your soul clients, so I am super excited to be speaking today to Elizabeth Averyanova, a specialist in this field.
Elizabeth helps purpose-driven female entrepreneurs, coaches, and service providers scale their businesses with impactful, beautiful branding and design to attract dream clients, elevate their online presence, and book out their offers while creating a lasting impact in the world. Her branding and design studio, Studio Classica, specializes in strategic, all-in-one Kajabi websites, high-converting sales pages, and online coaching program launches.
Listen as Elizabeth and I dig into;
>> How to avoid the three main mistakes people make when creating their visual identity.
>> The importance of consistency to build that all-important brand recognition and, ultimately, that know, like and trust.
>> The energy of colours, choosing templates for social media, the importance of the right photography, the minefield that is choosing a font...the things that alone might seem small, but when put together they become your unique brand.
The level of confidence that brand clarity brings is amazing – that feeling of ‘yes, I’ve got this!' - and when you know your unique brand is instantly recognisable and working for you everywhere you appear online, it feels fantastic!
Elizabeth also offers some really great insight into how to avoid tech overwhelm by knowing when the time is right to commit to a sales platform and how to decide which one is right for you. And I couldn't resist sneaking in a question about Kajabi, seeing as Elizabeth is a real ambassador for what the popular platform can offer us as solopreneurs.
You won’t want to miss her inspired action either...
Enjoy the listen!
