Finding Fault! The Number One Cause of Anxiety!
In this episode of Get Real with The English Sisters we talk about the habit of finding fault... something most of us do! Almost as if we had a fault finding radar ready to look for and find fault.
Be it finding fault in ourselves, or the way we look, or in others or things and possessions! This is why we think it is the number one cause of added stress and anxiety! The curious thing is that when we look for faults all day long, we always manage to find them! However if we install a POSITIVITY radar that looks for everything that is good, positive and wonderful, we will find it too!
Do you often wake up to thoughts of what's wrong instead of what's right? If so, you're not alone. We discuss the work of Dr Greg Kushnick, who provides valuable insights into overcoming the common human tendency of negativity bias. This episode is a treasure trove for anyone looking to enhance their mental health and daily life through the power of gratitude.
We encourage you to activate your 'good-finding radar' and embark on a transformative journey towards positivity and gratitude. By challenging ourselves to focus on the good, we can overcome the negativity bias that clouds our minds and embrace the richness of life's simple pleasures. This is more than just a feel-good message; it's a call to action for anyone seeking mental clarity and a happier, more fulfilled life.

Is Self Love Overrated? Anxiety Relief!
Today we will be talking about self love and if self love is overrated. Is there too much talk about loving oneself! Is there too much pressure to love yourself? What if you don't exactly feel that loving towards yourself? Does this increase anxiety? Perhaps self acceptance is the same as self love without the pressure! Instant anxiety relief!
Is it even normal to love yourself or is SELF LOVE a kind of pressure imposed on us by society and social media? Andy Warhol said that in the future everyone will be world famous for 15 minutes but do we have to be the centre of our own universe.
Maybe if we look outside ourselves and focus on loving others, self love will come naturally! If you can't accept yourself fully, perhaps accept yourself a little every day as you look outwards helping others!
“If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.” – Dr. Maya Angelou
This may be true but once again there is so much pressure on us to be amazing. Perhaps we all are already amazing and we just need to let go and accept that it is Ok to relax and just allow ourselves to be in the moment. What are your thoughts? We would love to hear from you! If you can't accept yourself fully, perhaps accept yourself a little every day as you look outwards helping others.

Resilience And Freud! Anxiety Relief of the Year!
In this Podcast episode of Get Real with The English Sisters, we talk about how we can all cultivate resilience and why it is helpful to do so for our mental health and overall wellbeing in 2022!
Psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity. We all live through challenges, adversity and difficult times and as we wrote in our book "Entrancing Tales for Change with NLP and Hypnosis", - we would like you to become aware - that you too possess great resilience like the daisy flower and that deep down inside you have the resilience and flexibility of a daisy that bounces straight back up when trodden on.
"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways." ― Sigmund Freud When we learn to express our emotions we become more resilient. This helps us release our emotions and doing so we become stronger and more empowered.
We find that today the worlds events create an overload of too much adversity, so much so that it gets more and more difficult to harness the resilience within. Making us feel anxious and overwhelmed eventually creating disease within us.
We can however learn to choose to shield ourselves from worldly news and stay in the present moment. Cultivating mindfulness can help us all become stronger, happier and more resilient.
It is so helpful to remember that just like the Japanese art Kintsugi of fixing a broken vase with gold to make it even more beautiful, the adversity we live through can make us stronger and more beautiful in every way.

The Ugly Truth About The “I'll Be Happy When" Syndrome - Anxiety Relief!
Have you ever heard yourself saying “I'll Be Happy When" you do something specific or obtain something of value, when you achieve a lifetime goal or when your health returns and it goes on and on. Very young children live in the present without waiting for something specific to happen. As we grow older we become conditioned by the constraints and expectations of society and the culture we live in and in turn tend to suffer from “I'll Be Happy When" Syndrome and unfortunately in most cases it is an ugly beast that tends to lead to a constant feeling of lack! Constantly chasing happiness instead of just experiencing it in the present moment.
What if “I'll Be Happy When" is replaced by “I'll Be Happy in the Now" and a scenario where it's ok to look forward to things happening and it's also ok if they don't happen. It's ok to let go of the outcome! Wouldn't we all be less anxious and experience a healing dose of anxiety relief, every single time we put into practice the “I'll Be Happy in the Now"! We are certainly going to do our best to keep doing so! How about you?

The Number One Natural Anxiety Relief Technique! Try This it Works Fast!
Nature knows how to deal with anxiety!
Have you ever wondered why our pets shake at the vets or when they get a fright and feel scared?
Peter Levine PhD explains the reasons for this in his book "Waking The Tiger Within Healing Trauma". Apparently mammals shake off their stress and anxiety straight after the stressful event, leaving them feeling relaxed and ready to chill or move on.
We on the other hand tend to hold on to all our stress and anxiety finding it difficult to unload which leaves us feeling chronically stressed out and anxious about everything.
Join us in this episode of Get Real with The English Sisters as we discuss relieving anxiety fast with this technique, in a uplifting way with lots of laughter! We end up chatting about love, life and birthdays too! Ultimately we remind ourselves that we are all part of the animal kingdom and there is a lot we can learn from our four legged friends! Listen in and use this technique to SHAKE OFF your anxiety now and get instant anxiety relief!

On Get Real with the English Sisters, we're delving into the transformative power of self-compassion and the art of being your own best friend. Imagine the shift in your world if, for just one week, you treated yourself with the unwavering kindness you'd offer your dearest companion. We'll explore the societal and cultural barriers that often prevent us from adopting this mindset and share the insights on how this practice can be a lifeline, especially when navigating life's tougher moments.
Friendships and relationships take the front seat in our meaningful discussion, where we dissect the dynamics that make each connection unique. Balancing acts aren't just for the circus; they're crucial in maintaining the equilibrium between your roles as a spouse and as an individual with a rich support network. We've all been there, trying to be everything to our partner—confidant, lover, and best friend. In sharing our personal experiences, we shed light on the necessity of a support network that extends beyond your significant other, providing different perspectives and a fuller, more rounded life experience.
Stepping into the psychological arena, we challenge you to a one-week experiment: be the hero in your own story, the friend you've always needed. We'll discuss how the roots of our upbringing and external factors contribute to our emotional resilience. By embracing self-support, we predict a week of self-friendship will spark a lasting commitment to self-care, leading to a more joyful, resilient life. We're grateful for each of you joining our conversation, and we're excited to hear how the self-friendship challenge will unfold in your lives. Get ready to discover just how much you can flourish by becoming your own greatest ally.

In our first ever podcast episode of Get Real With The English Sisters, we get real and discuss how opening up your heart can make you vulnerable. Can you share too much? Is vulnerability a sign of weakness or is it a sign of strength and courage? Does opening up your heart make you vulnerable?
Ultimately yes it does! However, as you will find out, the positives do outweigh the negatives and all you have to do before opening up is to ask yourselves this question coined by Dr Brené Brown:
"Who has earned the right to hear my story?"
Share with care, with the knowledge that you are opening yourself up to being vulnerable and you will ultimately feel strong enough to embrace the consequences and any negativity that may ensue because according to Dr Brené Brown “Vulnerability is the birthplace of creativity and joy” and isn't that what we all ultimately want in our lives.

Do you believe in free will?
Does free will exist?
Is it better to believe or not to believe in free will?
Are we free to do as we please or is it just an illusion?
Join us as we discuss this with a good dose of laughter.
A common and straightforward view is that, if our choices are predetermined, then free will does not exist. If our choices are not predetermined then it does!
According to Newton's laws of physics it simply does not exist.
And yet some studies have shown that people who believe in free will are more likely to live happier lives.
Do we believe in free will or is everything predetermined (destiny)? Find out listen now!
