I have been in the hospitality industry since I began working at the age of 15 and I have been in the Conference Industry for a little over 13+ years on the side of Exhibition & Sponsorship Management and received my CEM (Certification in Exhibition Management) in 2016. I created EXPOsed ConferencesTM Podcast to bring conference professionals together on a more frequent basis to discuss the fundamentals of conferences and relevant industry topics. EXPOsed ConferencesTM Podcast mission is to connect planners and suppliers of the conference industry while exploring the innovation and the evolution of conferences. Through candid conversations with industry experts as well as your industry peers each episode will expose insider tips and resources of the industry to strengthen and elevate your events.

Today marks the first episode of Season 3! On today's episode we sit down with Steve Mapes, Senior Vice President of Strategy at Impact XM . Steve is a 30-year veteran of the event and trade show business. Steve leads the development of integrated exhibit and event communication strategies for clients that include award-winning Design, Business Theater, Biointeractivity, Interactive Learning and Virtual Events.
He presents at conferences on various topics and writes for diverse publications such as Design Management International.

On Today’s Episode I’m speaking with Jess Ekstrom the founder and CEO of Headbands of Hope, a company that donates headbands to kids with cancer with every headband sold. Headbands of Hope has been featured on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, QVC, The View and worn by celebrities like Kelsea Ballerini and Khloe Kardashian. More importantly, Headbands of Hope has donated over 600k headbands, reaching every single children's hospital in America and 22 countries.

Jess is also the bestselling author of Chasing the Bright Side and creator of Mic Drop Workshop, an online course and community for women to become paid keynote speakers.
And during COVID-19 her company Headbands of Hope stopped production of headbands for several weeks and just made masks. They shifted their model that for every headband sold on their site they donated a mask. So far they have donated over 50,000 masks to U.S. accute hospitals! Jess is an inspiration and she continues to give back again and again.

On Today’s Episode I’m speaking with Lauren Schwab creator of Unplugged Mornings. Lauren created a 9-step process to help individuals disconnect to reconnect back to their true self! In connection to that effort Lauren has hiked Mount Kilimanjaro, spent almost 60 days living in a cave, and competed with more than 1 million people to win one of 50 coveted spots in a competition reality TV show held on NBC.

Lauren has also opened and sold two fitness studios, is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and fitness model in addition to leading online workouts that reach hundreds of thousands of men & women focused on changing their lives through fitness and mindfulness and has been featured in USA Today Sports, Marie Claire Magazine and Mind Body Green.
