Today's guest signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as a free agent in 2006. For 7 years he was a catcher in the Rays organization through as high as triple-A. He played his final season in 2014 with the Detroit Tigers organization, where he then retired to pursue his coaching career. After various different coaching positions over the years, in 2019 he was brought on by the San Francisco Giants as their bullpen and catching coach, which is where he is currently working at the time of this recording. Today's guest is a utility player who was born and raised in Michigan and was drafted to the big leagues in the 28th round of the 2008 MLB draft. He opted not to sign, and instead went on to play at Bowling Green University where he set multiple records for their program. Fast forward to 2011 and he was drafted by the Blue Jays. He persevered through 800 minor league games, where he eventually made his major league debut in September of 2018.
