Is there any truth to New Age beliefs?

Grab a little bit of Hinduism, add a dash of Buddhism, include a heaping dose of occultism, and sprinkle on just a tad of Christianity, and what do you get? New Age Mysticism.
This worldview doesn't really have a standard set of beliefs because everyone just makes it up as they go. One of the most popular beliefs in this religion is that humans are gods with supernatural powers and abilities.
The truth is, there is only one God and He is the only One with any supernatural powers. For example, ask a new age believer to create something from nothing. They’re all going to fail, but the God of the Bible did it with ease when he created all things just by speaking!

When I think about these so-called new age gods, I'm reminded of what the Incredible Hulk once said, “Puny god!”

Daily Witnessing Tips from Witness Radio - Revelation 21:8

Revelation 21:8

Why do Christians believe that sinners are going to Hell?

The reality of Hell isn't something that Christians take lightly. In fact, it's because of our belief in the Lake of Fire and our love for others that drives us to warn people about it!
Revelation 21:8 says, “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Based on this verse, everyone deserves to spend eternity in Hell, but Christians know that Jesus is the only way to escape the Lake of Fire. However, sinners won't take the escape route if they don't see why it's needed, so Christians should always lovingly warn about the punishment for sin before sharing the Good News.

How can you go from talking about phones into the Gospel?

Cell phones today can do just about everything. From email to video games. From book reading to making videos. You can even call people with them! But one thing that no phone can do... forgive your sins!
Sin is transgression of God's law, like coveting after the newest phones, which makes you a sinner in danger of heading to Hell for eternity!

Jesus Christ, God incarnate, made a way for you to escape that fate when He lived a sinless life and died to pay for your sin. Jesus rose from the grave and offers to forgive anyone that repents and trusts in Him alone. Please, call upon the Lord today!

Daily Witnessing Tips from Witness Radio - Judaism

Christianity came from Judaism, so do we worship the same God?

While Christianity got its start in Judaism, the god of Judaism is false, because they’ve failed to believe that Jesus is the Messiah. The Bible says “No one who denies the Son has the Father,” so even though they profess to worship Adonai, it’s not acceptable to God because of their rejection of His Son.
Now, when witnessing to the Jewish people, direct them to Old Testament Scriptures that are Messianic prophecies. For example, Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22 are passages about Jesus’ death and payment for sin. Isaiah 7:14 and Micah 5:2 give details about the Messiah’s birth.

One last thing to remember is that all of our witnessing encounters must be done with gentleness and respect because our actions can speak louder than our words.

Daily Witnessing Tips from Witness Radio - Two Days or Three?

Two Days or Three?

Was Jesus in the grave for three days or only two?

Skeptics claim that Jesus failed to fulfill the prophecy about His death being for three days and three nights since Jesus died on Friday and rose on Sunday, but from the historical and biblical view, a new day started when it got dark, not at midnight.
Now, do you remember how darkness fell upon the land during Jesus’ death? It’s during this period of darkness, or night, that Jesus was buried.

Therefore, early Friday afternoon would be one night. Late Friday afternoon would count for one day, Friday evening would be the second night, Saturday during daylight is the second day, Saturday after sunset started the third night, and Jesus rose after daybreak on Sunday morning, which would count as day number three.

Have you ever tried using live video to share the gospel?

Periscope is one of the original live video platforms that allows others to see the world through your eyes. This app helps people to find you through their live video map and highlights random live videos on the Periscope website. It also allows viewers to interact with you through chat bubbles.
Now, why is all of this important? Well, it’s important because you can use this medium to broadcast the Gospel all over the world! I’ve used Periscope numerous times to witness to people that found my live video on the app and I’ve had some great conversations about the God of the Bible with many non-believers.

So, if you’re not afraid of being live, then “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel” with Periscope!

How can you witness to someone while talking about the beach?

The beach can be a picture of paradise on earth, but many paint a distorted picture of the paradise offered by God. They say God will give you health, wealth, and happiness, but those things aren't promised in the Bible.
Followers of Jesus Christ are actually promised trials, temptation, and persecution. Jesus said that people will hate you for following Him. Now, knowing this, why would anyone want to be a Christian?
Because Jesus is the only way to heaven, because he died on the cross to pay for your sin and defeated death when he rose from the grave. Turn away from any false ideas about God and trust in Jesus Christ. He won’t give you a perfect life, but he's the only one that can give you eternal life.

Daily Witnessing Tips from Witness Radio - Stay Humble

How can you keep your pride in check when witnessing?

Pride can be a dangerous thing because it can cause us to look down on others who don’t possess the knowledge or skill that we have. What's even worse, is that it can cause us to get puffed up while out witnessing, instead of giving God the glory.
Many times in Scripture we see an emphasis on being humble. Even our Savior, Jesus Christ, humbled Himself and washed the feet of His disciples. We should always lift up Christ and lower ourselves.
Just remember, God is the one who saved you, and God is the one working in you to share the Gospel with others. He alone deserves the glory. So, if you struggle with pride, repent and turn your self-praise into God praise.

What is big and bold and helps you to share the Gospel?

Gospel Signs have gotten a bad rap lately, thanks to groups like the Westboro Baptist Cult, but when they’re used properly, they can reach a ton of people with the message of eternal life!
Signs with short, witty messages can leave a lasting impression upon the readers and using signs with Scripture are great too because it isn't your words or opinions. I like to include a Gospel website where people can go for more information.

Now, maybe you feel like holding a Gospel sign is a bit fanatical, or crazy, but, let me ask, do you feel the same way about the sign guy promoting a business or the sports fan in the bleachers? Of course not! So, what's really holding you back?

Daily Witnessing Tips from Witness Radio - Buddhism

Have you ever seen a statue of Buddha and wondered what Buddhism teaches?

That statue of a fat, bald guy at your favorite Chinese restaurant is a depiction of Siddhartha Gautama (Sid-Hart-A Got-A-Ma), also known as Buddha.
Buddhists believe that suffering exists in this world because people aren’t content and that the way to end suffering is by having no desire for anything. They desire to reach nirvana, a state of of perfect happiness, but it can’t be achieved, because the desire to reach that goal keeps them from it.

Buddhism contradicts Christianity because the Bible teaches that we can’t do anything to earn our way into Heaven. When witnessing to a Buddhist, tell them what the Bible says about where suffering really came from and that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to be content in this life.
