1422 Go, Tell It On The Mountain
10/06/19 • 13 min
When life isn't going the way you intended, what do you do? Slip back into what you know. Or do you go, tell it on the mountain.
There's something about the holidays that makes my heart sing. You can say music plays a big part.

We were worshipping in church and the holiday song, "Go, Tell It On The Mountain", was being sung.
When I was littler, I never understood why this song was sung. It didn't really have that holiday sound. It does have in the chorus that says, "...that Jesus Christ is born." And the verses tell about how the shepherds were told.
But why Go, Tell It On The Mountain?
I couldn't help but stay in heavy thought wondering about the mountain.
You realize that you are climbing mountains every day; some small, some big. Others you have yet to conquer.
So when success comes your way, you are excited to share the whole story, even when failure crept in along the way.
But when you don't make it up the hill, that small mountain, you are quick to hang your head, sulk, and wish you had never tried.
Yet we are told to go, tell it on the mountain!
The K.I.S.S. ~ Go, tell it on the mountain!Think about those shepherds the night when the sky was clear. Stars could be seen for miles. The night air was cool and calm.
Then low and behold the sky begins to tremble with angelic voices. The angels shared the news of the Holy birth.
Now remember, everything just minutes ago were cool and calm. In fact, the shepherds were most likely dozing or already asleep. Lions could shake the shepherds' confidence, but the angels made them tremble with extreme fear.
Have you ever been awakened during a calm day? Everything is going your way. And then all of sudden, you're in a mess!
You are reminded to go, tell it on the mountain no matter your circumstances.
God is bigger than any mountain you are climbing. You can't wait for all the stars to align in perfect harmony.
God wants you to sing from the mountaintops or in the valleys, (the small mountains and hills), that Jesus Christ is born.
He desires you to celebrate Him in the good, bad, and ugly.
Your success doesn't determine when you share God's love and grace with others.
The good news must be shared regardless of your circumstances.
REFLECTION: How have you been sharing God's goodness in your daily life? Where can you make some changes and inject His goodness into your mountain climbing?
"Go, tell it on the mountain. God's got you!!!"TAKE A.I.M. ~ Action Ignites Motivation - This is a complimentary (FREE) coaching call with me. You will be able to discuss your specific situation and gain tools and strategies to move you forward.

1421 May Your Merry Bells Keep Ringing
In any relationship, there are challenges and hardships. Regardless of personal differences, may your merry bells keep ringing.
Holidays bring out the best in all of us. That usually means not-so-good situations for your marriage.

Yet you keep pushing each others buttons hoping one will give in. And that one isn't you.
Now be honest. That will not get you any bonus points, not that you're keeping score.
But let's be real! You both are keeping score, especially during the holidays.
Stress brings our the best in all of us.
So what has been stressing you out lately?
- Deadlines
- To do list
- Traffic
- Dinner
- Laundry
- Bills
Well for us it was a mattress! We just recently purchased a new mattress. When it was being delivered, we had to prepare the space. The current mattress we had needed to be moved from our bedroom to another room.
During this escapade, my tone got a little heated and so did my husband's. But of course, neither of us could see the other side.
Perspective is everything. This applies to communication as well.
In marriage, you will have miscommunication. You will have conflict. The key is learning how to resolve the issue before it becomes a thorn in your marriage.
Remember....May your merry bells keep ringing!
So how do you keep those merry bells ringing?
The K.I.S.S. ~ Speak in wonder!Keep the magic alive!
Communication keeps those merry bells ringing. Why? Because both parties understand where the other is coming from.
- Be alert when conversing. Look at your spouse in the eyes. When your spouse enters the room, acknowledge him/her. And be sure not to talk through walls!
- Listen and question. When we carry on a conversation, most of the time we are missing what is really being said. Why? We are formulating a response. Listen and then ask a question. This builds trust and gives you more information to the situation at hand.
- Reaffirm your relationship. "In this moment, I am frustrated by your actions. Please know that I'm still madly in love with you. But that doesn't change that this situation stinks."
The more you practice these strategies, the more your spouse will notice. Over time, they too will begin to utilize some of the strategies too. But it starts with you!
"Your marriage is worth the fight! May your merry bells keep ringing!"TAKE A.I.M. ~ Action Ignites Motivation - This is a complimentary (FREE) coaching call with me. You will be able to discuss your specific situation and gain tools and strategies to move you forward.

"I have arrived!!"
But why do we still live our life like something's missing?
One reason might be the "I gotta have it now!" syndrome! There's no time .....
- to work for what you want,
- to trust the process,
- to learn from the journey,
- to enjoy the benefits.
But why trip over what already is in front of you?
Good things come in small packages.
It's all about the little steps. The small steps you need.
"One step at a time leads to miles of greatness."
You don't have to make it BIG to have arrived. You need to invest with daily consistency and mark the present.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Mark the present and W.R.A.P. it up good!If you get too caught up in the past, depression may own you. Or if you keep living for the future, anxiety may claim you.
You want neither of these in your life. So invest with daily consistency and mark the present and W.R.A.P. it up good.
- Wait - It's not about doing nothing, sitting around waiting. Be present. Take those baby steps, the next steps.
- Renew - Keep your dream alive in your heart. Don't put your dream on the back burner because you can't do it all now.
- Anticipate - Ready yourself. Be watchful of what's to come. Watching for the doors to open.
- Prepare - Take A.I.M.
Nothing comes without a price. The price is paid daily; not in leaps and bounds.
One step at a time leads to miles of greatness.
CHALLENGE: What one step needs to be taken today for your dream?
