Think about how much you teach daily. So what can you learn from what you teach?

It's very easy to teach those willing to learn. But how do you see yourself as a student? Are you as willing to learn as those you teach?

Things we might think as simplistic; they all require tools, strategies, and a plan to execute well.

Our life, our mindset, the actions we take all depend on our skills and our experiences creating a perspective of how we tackle the challenges and make decisions.

In the short sale of daily living, there isn't much we think needs deeper thought.

But what would happen if you made little shifts in how you do things? How you perform living life?

"It's easier to teach than it is to learn."

Especially if it necessitates you to change a habit or influences your current mindset.

Remember, we can be somewhat stubborn and set in our ways.

So it brings us back around to the question... What can you learn from what you teach?

  1. Practice what you teach.
  2. Be receptive to critiques.
  3. Always stay on the cutting edge of what you teach.

With an increase in sedentary lifestyles, it is essential that you maintain flexibility. Otherwise, as you age, your flexibility will deteriorate and the simple, daily activities will become a chore.

That's not something any of us want to accept.

CREATE YOUR NOW TV

Let's expand on the purpose of flexibility. You can enhance your performance in resistance training and aerobic training. Science supports that injury decreases with flexibility training and allows for a greater ROM (range of motion). You also become more in tune with your body.

Benefits of Flexibility Training:

  1. Reduces stress in your muscles worked during exercise.
  2. Releases the build-up of tension during exercise.
  3. Helps to improve posture.
  4. Reduces the risk of injury.
  5. Improves your overall strength as it increases your ROM.

How often do you perform flexibility training? DAILY

How long (the duration) do you need to practice flexibility? 5-10 minutes

How hard is flexibility training? Will it hurt? Stretching should not be painful. You will experience discomfort or feel a little uncomfortable. But the tightness will release. If you feel pain, you should NOT be stretching!

TYPES of STRETCHING:

  • Static Stretching: specific to an area; hold the position for 20 seconds, rest 20 seconds, then repeat 2x.
  • Dynamic Stretching: it's the full ROM of an area.It warms up the joints, maintains flexibility, and reduces muscle stress and tension.

Guidelines for Flexibility Training:

  1. Go slow. Work within your limits.
  2. Breathe deeply. Slow and steady.
  3. Focus on each muscle. Feel the tension and stress release.
  4. Modify to fit your ability.
  5. Connect the training with your meditation.
