One thing that repeatedly comes up no matter if we are moving beyond nasty break ups, chronic illness, rape, or trauma in other forms, is this idea that other people try to dictate who you are, what they think you’ll be capable of, and try to limit what is possible as your life after these events. No matter what someone has experienced, it doesn’t have to define them and yet they will tell you over this is your identify now. This is who you are.
