Listeners, we're back this week with a candid conversation with my NFT Besties Luisa Alberto, Michelle Morton and Marianna Di Regolo.

Luisa Alberto is the CEO of People First Finance, a Virtual CFO agency that provides high touch accounting and financial advisory services to women business owners. She has 18 years of Finance and Operations experience working alongside visionary leaders of successful Bay Area startups, such as Blue Bottle Coffee and Good Eggs. Her mission is to ease the financial burden and overwhelm that holds too many extraordinary self employed women back from reaching their fullest potential, and making a wildly successful living as the brilliant creators they were born to be.

Marianna is the Founder of The Fringe, an online resource and community for women and non-binary entrepreneurs. She is on a mission to support business owners from underrepresented communities, helping them grow online through creative and innovative marketing experiences. When she’s not working, you can find Marianna with her wife and baby making green smoothies, pulling weeds from their garden, or going on walks with their pups.

For Michelle Morton, the concepts of generational wealth and leaving a legacy for generations to come were instilled in her from an early age. As the owner of Luxury + Legacy and DMV Luxury Homes, her mission is to guide her clients and team, as they secure their own legacies through real estate and entrepreneurship.

Michelle spent her lifetime making things beautiful, crafting poignant messages and powerful presentations. Listeners, we're back this week with Fernanda Canchola & Maria Hampton.

In 1986, five insightful local Latinas recognized the significant need for a unifying force – a strong Latina voice advocating for a greater Latina presence and a deeper Latina involvement in the educational, economic, political and social arenas.

These pioneering and resourceful women created that unifying force and voice by establishing the San Diego Chapter of MANA, a national Latina organization whose mission is to empower Latinas through education, leadership development, advocacy and community service.MANA short for “Hermana”, the Spanish word for sister, is a dynamic sisterhood of Latinas bound together by common history, culture, language and goals.

MANA de San Diego is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, incorporated in the State of California in 1998. MANA is funded by membership dues, donations and the generous support of sponsors and partners. MANA de San Diego is the largest and most active MANA chapter, with more than 4,000 supporters.

Fernanda originates from the Imperial Valley, an agricultural and desert area bordering Arizona and Mexico. She graduated from San Diego State University in Business Administration and is pursuing a Master's of arts in interdisciplinary studies from Oregon State University's e-campus. She has experience in event planning, non-profit fundraising, affinity groups, database management, and volunteer management. She is currently working as Member and Donor Relations Manager at MANA de San Diego.

Maria Hampton is the Membership Committee Chair with MANA de San Diego. She has been with the Membership Committee since 2018 and brings forth new ideas on member engagement. Maria is currently a Branch Manager at Cal Coast Credit Union and has 14 years of experience in the financial sector.

During this episode we talked about:

Listeners, this week we're back with Kimberly Bautista.

Kimberly is a Colombian-American award-winning writer, director, and producer. Her feature-length documentary “Justice for My Sister” about one Guatemalan woman’s determination to hold her sister’s killer accountable was broadcast on PBS Stations and TeleSUR. Part of an international campaign with UN Women throughout Latin America to end violence against women, the film encouraged audiences to break the silence about abuse. This laid the groundwork for Kimberly to found an arts nonprofit to train women of color, gender nonconforming youth, and former foster youth to make films, heal through storytelling, and overcome financial barriers to entering the TV and film industries.

Kimberly’s comedic pilot The “SweetSpot”—about a group of friends who contend with modern-day adulthood and an unconventional love triangle—premiered at the 2017 Outfest Fusion Film Festival. She’s directed 6 music videos for feminist hip hop artists, over 30 short social justice documentaries, 6 branded content spots, and co-wrote a short film about machismo in Latino families, accumulating over 22 million views.

Kimberly’s magical realism TV pilot script about women’s power to heal “Elemental Powers” was presented as a stage reading at The Second City’s LA Diversity in Comedy Festival. Kimberly’s feature film in development about a 13-year-old girl who’s secretly in a punk-ska-cumbia band against her parents’ wishes “19.99 Plus Tax” was invited to Cine Qua Non Lab’s screenwriting residency in Mexico.

Kimberly has received fellowships from Brown Girls Doc Mafia, HOLA Mexico Film Festival, HBO, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, Ford Foundation, and several U.S. Embassies. She is a multi-grant recipient of the Princess Grace Foundation and Latino Public Broadcasting.

When the pandemic hit and George Floyd was murdered, I felt a ton of fear and sadness around us so I went to Instagram and started tapping for all of us. You liked it and asked for more.

So now, we can tap together every week on Patreon.
