(How I 10x'd My Wedding Stationery Business - $30k to $300k)
Welcome to the Build That Business podcast, episode number 37. Today is going to be a short episode, because we’re talking about the importance of taking a creative break and I’m going to practice what I preach.
I know that being an entrepreneur can bring along stressors. From family obligations to juggling your client’s needs, to growing your business, to that little voice in the back of your head reminding you of all of the things you need to be doing. And trust me I get it, It’s kind of stressful isn’t it? You set out to start your own business for freedom, it’s supposed to be rewarding, inspiring and fun - and yet, we feel overwhelmed, and we feel isolated, we feel guilty that this life is what we wanted but we’re still not happy all the time.
I know for me it feels so chaotic, being a mom of a toddler, running a business - it sometimes feels like everything's on fire all the time and you’re just running from one thing to the next (can you relate). To me it’s like, “can I just get a minute to think about what the heck I’m doing?” So, that’s all I wanted to do in this episode - is just give you permission to take a minute. Will you take a deep breath with me and recognize the value of stepping back and strategically planning what we're doing? Isn't it funny how we forget this stuff? We forget to pause, plan, think. We think there’s no time for it but in reality this is the most important thing you can do for your business.
So press play on this episode and let's give ourselves permission to pause...

36: Control the chaos and leave your couples breathless in a GOOD way: How to quietly coach your couples for their wedding day with Gabby Chapin

Welcome to The Build That business podcast, episode number 36.
Today we are talking about how to control the chaos and leave your couples breathless (in the best way). I have the honor of sitting down with the one and only Gabby Chapin, a wedding photographer and educator and the perfect person to walk us through this. Gabby is going to teach us how she quietly coaches and prepares her couples for their sessions and wedding days. This episode is one of my favorites I’ve ever done. It’s the perfect kick off to this wedding season and packed full of useful tips that we can take with us as we dive into our 2022 season and hopefully a new normal in the wedding industry. So without future ado, let's dive into the episode!
In today's episode, we'll cover:
1. So today we’re going to be talking about controlling the chaos. And, this topic has a very different meaning after the hell of a year we’ve all been through as wedding professionals. I see a common thread that we’re all just really burnt out. What advice would you give to a wedding pro listening to this who feels like the wheels have totally fallen off the bus this year? Dates postponed, details changing, couples on edge... how to regain some of that control and order in your business?
2. What's the single most important thing you do, BEFORE the wedding day, to promote a smooth flow of events?
3. How do you get clients to give you what you need to perform to the best of your abilities?
4. How do you communicate what your boundaries are with your clients?
5. When clients toe the line of your set boundaries, what do you do to guide them back into your higher functioning zone?
Thanks for tuning into today’s episode of the Build That Business Podcast!

38: It's OK to be a serial entrepreneur; but how do you do it well? with Melissa Koehler

Welcome to The Build That business podcast, episode number 38.
Today I’m sitting down with the Lovely Melissa Koehler, the host of the podcast, “Confessions of a serial entrepreneur” - and she’s going to talk about just that. How It's OK to Be a Serial Entrepreneur; it’s okay to be multi passionate... but how do you do it well?
Melissa Koehler is a Small Business Strategist who is passionate about helping women build a business they can be proud of! What started as a career as a professional photographer has blossomed into the creation of several brands and businesses and a passion to teach others how to get started without feeling alone and overwhelmed. She has found the "easy button" for building a business with the creation of The Blush Pages, where entrepreneurs can join in community, find joy in running their business, and access the help they need to build an unstoppable brand. She believes in passion over perfection and the truth that the only superpower you need is YOU!
This episode was mind blowing for me - SO many amazing insights about how to juggle multiple passions without the overwhelm packed into just 30 mins. So without future ado, let's dive into the episode!
We'll cover:
1. As a serial entrepreneur, how do you keep everything organized?
2. How do you spend equal, quality time on all of your businesses?
3. How do you stay passionate about each business?
4. How do you share about each different business on social media without overwhelming your audience? 5. How do you find time for running more than one business?
