In this week’s episode of the podcast I had the honour and privilege of sitting down with Aaron Edwards. I asked Aaron to come into the studio for his first ever podcast because I believe he is a shining example of someone who is standing up as a voice for conversations that need to be had more frequently in society. In the episode we dive into: - Aaron’s struggles with depression, anxiety and mental health - Why these conversations need to be had not only when people are struggling but when they’re happy as well - And we discuss Aaron’s hopes for the future of mental health in Australia. Out of all the interviews I’ve done as part of this show this one stood out to me as one of the most raw and vulnerable. As always this episode is available, alongside 100s of other podcasts, articles and videos, in The Wellness Library on PocketCoach. The Wellness Library is like having a Netflix that’s filled with content that is actually good for your life rather than a distraction from it. Welcome back to the Wizards of Wellbeing mini-series on the BU with Declan Edwards Podcast. In this mini-series we interview and connect with experts who we feel are making magic in people's lives.

On this week's episode of the show we are joined by our good friend, Scott Bidmead.

Scott is an entrepreneur, a media personality and a passionate advocate for all things wellbeing and flourishing.

In his past, Scott has been the presenter on numerous TV programs, has interviewed celebrities such as Morgan Freeman and Jason Momoa, and has grown a successful PR and Media Company.

In this interview though we are stripping back the glitz and glamour to focus more on Scott's personal story. In this interview, we dive into some of the changes he has made over the past couple of years as a result of reconnecting with his vision and sense of purpose. We also discuss concepts such as:

  1. What it means to live a good life
  2. How to reconnect with yourself when the world is so loud
  3. Embracing the idea that you don't have to pigeon hole yourself and just be one thing.

If you're feeling a bit disconnected from what matters to you in life, if you've been told that you should chase your dreams but you're unsure what you should be dreaming about in the first place - this is the episode for you.

PS: It means the world to us if you SUBSCRIBE & REVIEW the show on any platform you're listening on.

And as always; Make an Impact, Start with Self and BU!

On this week's episode of 15 minute mindset I'm sharing the concept of "impermanence" and how it can help you savour the good times and stay resilient in the challenging times.

I share how the mantra of "this too shall pass" is particularly beneficial in this uncertain and difficult time we are all living in.

And I also share how a water painting by a Chinese artist helped me embody and appreciate this amazing Buddhist concept of "impermanence"

This week's episode of the show is incredibly exciting to me for two reasons
1. Our guest is not only an Alumni member of BU who I am privileged enough to personally Coach
2. She is also someone who takes what she learns from her own Personal Development and now uses it to help others.
Britt Barlow is many things but one thing that stands out consistently to me is her desire to help people live happier and healthier lives.
In this episode, Britt goes deep into how anxiety was a massive part of her life for 15 years and she shares how she hopes the approaches to anxiety and wellbeing as a whole will change.
Britt also shares the one message she wishes every single woman on the planet could embody (and it's powerful!).

Ami Assigal is many things. A business owner, a mother, a leader and a changemaker.

But after so long juggling so many roles, and wrestling with a high achiever drive, Ami found herself at a place where she no longer knew who she was, what she wanted or what would fulfil her.

She was stressed, anxious and permanently hustling for her worth - never taking the time to slow down and appreciate herself or her life.

This is how we first connected with Ami in mid-2019 when she joined the BU movement as part of our Personal Development & Wellbeing Mastery Program.

Nowadays Ami is proud of who she is, is ok with slowing down and has a much healthier relationship with her emotional wellbeing. The best part is Ami is still kicking massive goals and achieving great things in her life but now she is doing so from a place of fulfilment and self-love.

On this debut episode of The Insider Scoop series, I sit down with Ami for the first time in person to find out more about the journey from her own perspective and to dive into how Ami is making an impact, starting with herself.

In this episode we talk about:

Ami's changing relationship with the concept of failure

How Ami developing herself has helped her positively impact the lives of her children, her clients and those around her

An incredibly exciting opportunity that has arisen for Ami to positively change lives in another country.

If you'd like to connect more with Ami and follow her journey you can do so via LinkedIn:

If you'd like to be a part of Hello my Tribe you can check them out here: https://www.hellomytribe.com/

MOST IMPORTANTLY MAKE SURE YOU SUPPORT AMI'S WORK IN GHANA HERE --> https://join.thp.org.au/fundraisers/amiassigal/business-chicks-ghana

Other resources we mentioned during this episode are:

"The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Steven Covey [book]

"First We Make the Beast Beautiful" by Sarah Wilson [book]

As always it means the world to us when you SUBSCRIBE and REVIEW the show on whatever platform you're listening from.

Thank you in advance.
