Bringin' it Backwards
We had the pleasure of interviewing Luna Aura over Zoom video!
Genre-bending alternative powerhouse Luna Aura is hell bent on paving her own path. The triple threat singer, songwriter, and producer has shared stages with some of music’s biggest names, including: The Killers, K.Flay, Muse, Weezer, Garbage, P!nk, Odesza, and more. Her new EP titled "THREE CHEERS FOR THE AMERICAN BEAUTY" is out now!
Cheers to the little girl who grows up to be everything she’s designed to be. Physically perfect, met with apparent effortlessness. She’s manageable (yet sociable), sexy (but not slutty), sporty (but still feminine), intelligent (but not too outspoken), a refined lady (especially one who knows how to please). The little girl who grows up to be the woman who plays every role you need her to play, exactly as you need her to play it; and not without a smile on her face.
This project isn’t about that girl. This project is about the other girls, and for all girls. That means the ones that don’t really care if you like their hair, or whether or not you think they’re agreeable. The ones who refuse to believe their purpose is to be gentle and subservient. I developed this project for all the girls, trying to survive in a patriarchal society that consistently enforces a mindset designed to keep them from reaching their true potential. A society that is devoted to skillfully conditioning and silencing women, as well as criminalizing their ambition. All in the form of accessorized dolls, distorted advertisements, drippy rom-coms, and even our own president’s rhetoric.
These songs, stories, and art pieces were created for those who are done asking for the world’s consideration. The ones who demand, with fire in their bellies, to be treated as individuals of worth. Not because of the way they look or their ability to please, but because of their intellect, their professional and creative achievements, and their power to lead. This project is inspired by and dedicated to all the vigorous females in my life. The the ones who aren’t worried about kicking down the door, or breaking the ceiling, because they’re too busy lighting the match that’s going to burn the whole fucking place to the ground.
If that’s you, welcome. If it’s not, pay attention.
This is the world of the American Beauties. Stories written by women, for everyone. Each one inspired by true events, with each character personifying a pressure that is placed on young women living in America. The songs you will hear work in tandem as the soundtrack to our defiance, and our vision. In this world, there is no room for politeness or civility, but plenty of room to make you question your involvement. We’re not here to blame you, we’re not here to scare you. We’re here to make you think..
We want to hear from you! Please email [email protected].

Interview with Cosmic Gate

We had the pleasure of interviewing Bossi of Cosmic Gate over Zoom audio!
GRAMMY ® nominated trance legends Cosmic Gate aka Nic Chagall and Bossi have proved to be a matchless musical union. The last 20 Years set them on the course to becoming Germany’s most enduringly successful electronic music duo. Smashing the biggest festivals and road-blocking clubs worldwide, got them highest climber on DJ Mag’s Top 100 chart and racked up plentiful other awards & nominations along the way. Numerous Singles like ‘am2pm’, ‘Fall Into You’ and ‘Falling Back’, countless Remixes and 9 Artist Albums, including scene-defining classics like ‘Be Your Sound’, ‘Fire Wire’ and ‘Exploration of Space’, their star on dance music’s walk of fame has long since been laid.
Introduction: From their very first drumbeat, through to the release of ‘[Forward Ever Backward Never]’ – their ‘20 Years’ commemorating longplayer, Cosmic Gate’s Nic Chagall and Bossi have proved to be a matchless musical union. A chance encounter in a Cologne recording studio two decades ago set them on the course to becoming Germany’s most enduringly successful electronic music duo.
Their original productions have taken them to the highest reaches of streaming lists and download charts, whilst their remixography eclectically includes everyone from revered Hollywood composers like James Horner (Avatar/Titanic) to in-scene demigods like Armin van Buuren and Tiësto. Nic & Bossi’s behind-decks-brotherhood has triggered critical mass in a now uncountable number of countries. They’ve dominated electronic music capitals and spun at the veritable A-through-Z of major festivals. In the process they’ve picked up a Grammy nomination (in 2019’s Best Remix category), become the highest climber on DJ Mag’s Top 100 chart and racked up numerous other awards & nominations along the way. Driven by their critically applauded albums, Spotify-busting singles like ‘am2pm’, ‘Fall Into You’ and ‘Falling Back’ (each with 5million streams to their name) and scene-defining classics like ‘Be Your Sound’, ‘Fire Wire’ and ‘Exploration of Space’ (10million Spotify streams), their star on dance music’s walk of fame has long since been laid.
As DJs, kinetically bouncing off the others energy, week in, week out, Cosmic Gate continue to push floors to supernova. In North America they’ve smashed the biggest festivals like EDC, Ultra, Electric Zoo, IleSoniq, Spring Awakening, Paradiso, Global Dance, Veld, Dreamstate and more. Road-blocking clubs and events like Space (both Miami & New York), Governors Island NY, LA’s Palladium and the Great Hall at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner has become their SOP. Floors have felt similar pressure in hotspots worldwide. Among them have been Tomorrowlands in Belgium & Brazil, ASOTs internationally, Creamfields, Ministry & SW4 in the UK & Ultra Europe, Untold Romania, Mysteryland & Luminosity in Holland and Parookaville, Boothaus & Nature One in their native Germany. Their WMC/MMW Miami Sunset Cruises have long since passed into clubbing legend and the pair famously sold out a 2000 capacity solo show on the island of Honolulu.
Grammy nomination: the final month of 2018 Nic & Bossi were nominated for their first Grammy award. Selected in the Best Remixer category, their work on Gabriel & Dresden and Sub Teal’s ‘Only Road’ from a year earlier drew nomination praise from the academy. The remix was further described by DJ Mag as “masterful”, with “alchemic sequencing”, “shrewd use of context” and was “wily” in its “sound design”
C.G. Productions & Albums: In their homeland, Cosmic Gate has maintained a consistently high level of mainstream success, charting no fewer than 7 top 40 singles. Further afield ‘Fire Wire’ signalled the pair’s arrival, becoming a pan-European chart smash and hitting the top ten in a number of countries.
Albums have, and continue to play a substantial part in their production career. Most recently that’s been evidenced by ‘20 Years’, which was released in August

Interview with Adam Sanders

We had the pleasure of interviewing Adam Sanders over Zoom video!
Raw talent is essential for an artist to develop a successful career, but a strong sense of identity is just as crucial. Adam Sanders possesses both. In a day and time where budding entertainers can be shaken by numerous factors from social media critics to music industry gatekeepers, it takes a special caliber of person to know what’s truly important to them and, even more difficult, to hold fast to those values. The proof is in the listening of Sanders’ latest release, “Ruled The World,” which features seven of his fellow singer-songwriters along with a music video that stars his musical heroes Tracy Lawrence, Aaron Tippin and Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon and Mike McGuire.
Faith, Family, Music, the Outdoors and Fitness are the pillars Sanders’ life revolves around and he has discovered those are priorities for many of the folks he’s singing to as well. “I’ve grown a lot in the past year, and I thought, ‘Who am I, really?’ I always thought of myself as an everyday guy, but different than the guy on stage,” he says of reconciling his public and private personas. “I’ve learned over the last year that that guy off stage needs to be the same guy on stage so it’s real. I want to be relatable and I want to be me in every area of my life. Fans can see when it’s not real, and I’m happier and more successful when I am not pretending to be something I’m not.”
A native of Lake City, FL, Sanders knew at an early age that music would be his life. “My mom likes to say I could sing before I could talk,” says the avid outdoorsman and fitness fanatic. “I’ve got tons of pictures of me dressed up in a cowboy hat, boots and jeans because I idolized Alan Jackson very early on and envisioned him as my hero.”
Most of Sanders’ family had musical talent, especially his uncle Scotty Sanders, a professional steel guitar player, who encouraged his nephew’s dream. After honing his skills performing around northern Florida, Sanders moved to Nashville in 2009. He worked construction to pay the bills while developing his chops as a songwriter. His skills caught the attention of executives at Big Yellow Dog who signed him to a publishing deal.
Sanders first found success in Nashville as a songwriter, penning songs for Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley and Tyler Farr, among others. One of Music Row’s hottest young songwriters, Sanders has topped the charts with such No. 1 singles as Cole Swindell’s “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” and Dustin Lynch’s “Hell of a Night.” He honed his craft hanging out with pals like Swindell, Farr, Jon Pardi, Chase Rice and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, and became like a younger brother to a group of hit-bound young talents on the cusp of success.
Sanders learned how to craft a song that was right in the pocket for country radio. He then embarked on his artist career, quickly earning a reputation as an up and comer to watch as he independently sold over 70,000 singles and scored over 70 million Spotify streams. Yet Sanders admits his early efforts weren’t truly synonymous with who he really is as a person. “I started feeling like a puppet just trying to chase what labels thought I needed to sound like and so I finally just stepped back,” he says. “I’ve found what I’m not and I know what I am. For a while, I tried to run from being country and there’s no way you can take that away from me because it’s the way I grew up. And I never took a guitar lesson. I never took vocal lessons. Everything that I’ve done at this point is through just hard work and dedication.”
Self-examination led to Sanders focusing on what is truly important to him and what he wants to say to his growing audience. He started that foundation in his 2018 self-titled, debut EP which peaked at No. 33 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.
In releasing new music in 2019 and now 2020, Adam continues to lay the groundwork for what is destine to be the perfect pendulum swing from the s
