We had the pleasure of interviewing Kevin Quinn over Zoom video!
Capitol CMG’s breakout pop artist Kevin Quinn who made his explosive musical introduction last summer with launch single “Wildfire,” on the heels of his series regular role on Disney’s “Bunk’d” and in the popular Netflix musical, “A Week Away” (FYI - he sang 11 of the 13 songs on the soundtrack). He just released his anticipated debut EP and new single, “It’s About Time,” with a “Breakfast Club”-inspired music video
The five-track debut EP features his 2021 hit “Wildfire,” consecutive singles, and the brand new EP title track, “It’s About Time.”
While his pop music career has just launched, he’s certainly not new to the industry. Last year, he starred as the heartthrob lead—a troubled teen redeemed, in Netflix’s faith-based musical “A Week Away,” opposite Bailee Madison. Previously, he also starred on “Shameless,” “Chicago P.D.” and two seasons as series lead “Xander” on Disney’s “Bunk’d.” Currently, Quinn is on a 40+ arena tour as a special guest on Winter Jam 2022

We had the pleasure of interviewing LiLi Roqelin over Zoom video!
The song “Childfree” by NYC-based award-winning singer-songwriter-producer LiLi Roquelin is the first-ever original song written about the childfree choice and lifestyle.
It features 55 happy childfree women from all over the world on the cover art and it has been labeled by such women as “their Anthem”.
Since its release, she has received many positive and supportive reactions (with The New York Times feature and podcast interviews), some neutral, and some negative reactions from men, parents, and mothers.
She is proud to be a voice for all women that chose this lifestyle. Her goal is to help and inspire young women to become aware they have a choice and to speak up about their decision.
LiLi is at the core of the Childfree Movement and she is on a mission to normalize a woman’s choice to live a happy, childfree life. “I want women that get criticized or judged about their lifestyle to have the song as support and to remind them they are not alone!”. “Young girls can listen to the lyrics and feel empowered and reassured, embrace their preference and turn it into the firm decision that they need to take.”

Interview with Don Lifted

03/15/22 • 57 min

We had the pleasure of interviewing Don Lifted over Zoom video!
Memphis-based genre-defying multihyphenate Don Lifted unveils latest single and music video “The Rope” via Fat Possum Records.
Of the release, Don Lifted shared, “The Rope represents planting a flag for me. It's written from a sense of sureness in the fact of my reality and my abilities. I view it as a rare moment of hyperconfidence and aggression while recording my album 325i. The record highlights my fortitude as an artist, and as a person who has drastically innovated and greatly contributed to the environment that I came up in.”
Working in tandem as brothers, “The Rope” was directed by Martin Matthews and edited by Don Lifted (aka Lawrence Matthews). The accompanying visual perfectly complements the single’s eerie nature and ethereal vulnerability. Viewers join Don Lifted on a dark journey, as he attempts to navigate his path to success amid outside forces trying to bring him down.
The single follows on the heels of his album 325i released in October 2021. Recorded in 2020, the album encapsulates reckoning with movement versus stagnancy, questioning of direction, and embrace of detours. Through hauntingly atmospheric R&B beats, stinging guitar, and dexterous flow, Don Lifted bridges indie and hip-hop creating an unprecedented sound.
The multi-disciplinary maverick is also set to take stage at SXSW this Thursday, March 17th. The show will take place at SXSW’s Hotel Vegas stage at 7:50pm ET. Other appearances include the SXSW Aces High x Minor Figures on March 18th, The Treefort Music Fest on March 26th, and Schubas on April 16th.

Interview with Gus Englehorn

We had the pleasure of interviewing Gus Englehorn over Zoom video!
Montreal singer-songwriter Gus Englehorn announces his sophomore album Dungeon Master, the cutest, heaviest, strangest rock’n’roll record you will hear this year. Set for release on April 29 via Secret City Records, the news is accompanied with a new single + video directed by Englehorn and Estée Preda; the stomping, paranoid “Tarantula.” Englehorn says, “This song is about uninvited recurring irrational thoughts and fears. I decided to make a little fable where a tarantula is whispering bad things into your ear. Most of the time I have to use a lot of words to get my point across, so I was particularly pleased with this one because there’s only 15 words in it.” The release follows previous lead single “The Gate,” a delirious, headbanging allegory about facing your own mortality. In March, Englehorn will also feature as an official artist at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
Dungeon Master, Englehorn’s Secret City Records debut, is an outsider opus that sparkles with Dada spirit — a playful juxtaposition of isolation, alienation and mildish OCD. Surprising, paranoid, and studded with synths and strings, Dungeon Master is deeper than a cellar and blunter than a club — a shivering introduction to an artist who’s finally arrived. “I let my subconscious do the driving,” Gus admits, and as you listen to these 10 tunes, it’s difficult not to do the same: to sit back like a dog with a two-legged daydream; like a fisherwoman with her net; like a snowboarder with a mouth full of powder.
Before he made the record in a cabin in the woods, he lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he fell in love at first sight with a woman from Québec, a girl named Estée Preda, who plays drums like Moe Tucker on salvia. In those days, Gus was a professional snowboarder — crisscrossing the world as a weird and world-class talent, kick-flipping through videos, shredding the gnar, posing in corporate-sponsored sunglasses. Before that he lived in Hawaii — on a lava field off-grid, with his folks. And before that in Alaska — in a hamlet called Ninilchik, where his parents fished for salmon and he and his brothers ate moose and pizza, played Nintendo, and also pretended to be wizards.
For almost all of Gus’s life — from Big Island’s sunsets to snowy Utah pistes — he dreamed of being a songwriter. If he couldn’t be Dylan, maybe he’d be Daniel Johnston, or Frank Black and The Pixies, or maybe Darby Crash and The Germs. And when he finally emerged — first on 2020’s Death & Transfiguration and now here on the 34-year-old’s label debut — he had found a sound that was dark and delightful, fun and demented, packed with dynamics and the chug of a hysterical guitar.

We had the pleasure of interviewing The Haunt over Zoom video!
Los Angeles, Calif. S. Florida alt-pop rock outfit The Haunt have announced a 28-date U.S. Tour as direct support for Mongolian folk rock and heavy metal band The HU.
Kicking off April 16 at Humphrey’s by the Bay in San Diego, the ‘Black Thunder Tour' traverses the entire U.S., visiting all new cities from the run they did with The HU in the fall.
Comprised of Anastasia Haunt (lead singer), Maxamillion Haunt (guitarist, singer, and producer), Nick Lewert (drummer and producer), and bassist Nat Smallish, the band is riding a strong wave of support from press, radio and DSPs while also being tapped to contribute their original song “Hollywood” to the Hulu Original Film ‘PLAN B,’ which was directed by Natalie Morales (of Parks and Rec) and stars Kuhoo Verma and Victoria Moroles, who wore a Haunt t-shirt in the film’s opening sequence.
The quartet will be showcasing material from their recently released Social Intercourse EP (featuring the breakout song, “Love You Better”), which Alternative Press dubbed, “Pop sensibility and rock ’n’ roll swagger,” while introducing brand new material from their forthcoming debut album co-produced by the band along with Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft (of Escape The Fate, who’s worked with Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker, and Ashley Tisdale), mega-hit production crew The Stereotypes (Justin Bieber, Cardi B, Bruno Mars) and Grammy Award nominated producer Brandon Friesen (The Kooks, Sum 41, Three Days Grace), who helped craft the scintillating tension propelling The Haunt’s hit anthem, “Make Me King.”

Interview with Sheryl Sheinafia

We had the pleasure of interviewing Sheryl Sheinafia over Zoom video!
Indonesian artist, Sheryl Sheinafia, recently dropped her new song "Earn It".
“Earn It” is an ode to second chances. Insecurity and uncertainty become the main themes for "Earn It," as those qualities are the greatest travesty any love has to face.
Sheryl says “The song is my attempt to build a pillar of trust, and understanding— a call for me and my partner to restore our frequencies that have gone adrift.”
This is the video for "Earn It":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icI9amMWSIY
With millions of streams and followers; Sheryl is definitely a force of her own in Indonesia, having built a huge fan base throughout the years. She released her debut album in 2013, which charted in Indonesia and led to booking big hosting and acting roles.
In 2017 she released another album, and after having a lot of her songs top the charts; Sheryl realized the momentum she had and decided that this was the right time to take a leap of faith. Releasing songs written in English is an uncommon phenomenon in the Indonesian music scene– yet her single 'Sweet Talk', a full song in English, became her most known project to date. Now she's been releasing English music ever since.
"When I first started, I found that my music has always succumbed to the confines of what is expected in Indonesian pop. As of now, I feel that my music is disarming the norms and otherwise old school expectations. It’s evolved in a way where I am capable of cultivating and fostering my own sound— one that listens to none and is a true reflection of how I want people to perceive my sound." -Sheryl

We had the pleasure of interviewing Pete Sears of Moonalice over Zoom video!
San Francisco-based psychedelic soul group Moonalice is set to release their latest studio EP, ‘Full Moonalice Vol. 1’, on the high holy day of April 20. The six song record is the group’s label debut on Nettwerk and features the previously released single “Woo Woo” and an extended version of the band's first single, “Time Has Come Today.” ‘Full Moonalice Vol. 1’ is their first full body of work since transforming into a ten-piece in 2019 through the addition of Lester Chambers and Dylan Chambers of the New Chambers Brothers, and Erika, Rachel, and Chloe Tietjen of the T Sisters. Today, Moonalice shares “Let’s Get Funky,” the latest single from their upcoming EP.
Mixed and mastered by 4x-Grammy Award-winning engineer Dave Way, “Let’s Get Funky” is a fresh take on the Chambers Brothers’ hit “Funky.” Originally released in 1970, the song was written by Lester Chambers, a co-founder and lead vocalist of the Chambers Brothers, who is now a member of Moonalice. “Funky” broke the Billboard Top 100 despite being deemed “too risqué of a song for the time,” explains the 81-year-old Chambers. Moonalice delivers a new version of the song with tight grooving from Pete Sears and John Molo on bass and drums, funky guitar riffs from Barry Sless, an electric synth solo by Jason Crosby, soulful harmonica playing by Lester Chambers, and lively backing vocals from the T Sisters and Dylan Chambers.
Moonalice will spend the next few months on the road, touring across California, including festival performances at BottleRock and Skull & Roses. The group is also planning an extra special event in San Francisco to coincide with their annual 4/20 celebration. Stay tuned for more details and national headline dates to be announced soon.

Interview with Warren Zeiders

We had the pleasure of interviewing Warren Zeiders over Zoom video!
Rising country star Warren Zeiders launches a new road-ready single, “Dark Night,” available now on all DSPs via Warner Records. The Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter has been teasing the song in bits and pieces to his 1.7M followers on TikTok – where it’s also organically reached millions outside of his follower count. The contemplative track follows the recent release of his fiery “Burn It Down” and arrives just over a month after “Ride the Lightning” earned him his first Gold record.
On “Dark Night,” Zeiders hits the road again, lyrically, over a propulsive beat and heavy strums of acoustic guitar. Driving fast down a shadowy highway, he comes to grips with the decisions he’s made and wonders if redemption lies somewhere along that little white line. “Devil’s on my shoulder, demons gettin’ closer,” Zeiders sings. “All I know is I gotta ride.” To celebrate the release of “Dark Night,” and his recent signing to Warner Records, Zeiders will head out on the road for a series of shows to bring his songs front and center to his ever-growing audience. His first show in State College, PA is already sold out, and the remaining dates are on sale as of this morning.
About “Dark Night,” Zeiders comments, “Dark Night is unique to me because I’ve seen how much people have connected and resonated to this song already, and have used it as an outlet to voice what they’re dealing with in life. This song is about how we all may fall down, no matter what’s going on in our lives. We all feel pain. We all feel darkness, which is ok – but it’s how we get back up and continue to move forward - and that’s what makes us who we are. It will be on the 717 Tapes EP – Volume 2 with a few more tunes that I can’t wait to play for y’all out on the road! See y’all out there!”
“Dark Night” and “Burn It Down” are both included on his next set of original songs called 717 Tapes EP Vol. II set for release on April 8th. The new EP follows last fall’s 717 Tapes EP Vol. I, which contained his certified gold, runaway hit single “Ride The Lightning.”
With a weathered voice that belies his 22 years of age, Zeiders has garnered comparisons to classic country and rock artists twice his age, it’s not unexpected that’s he’s inspired a massive international social media following, commanding more than 657 million global views on TikTok and over 224 million streams across platforms.

Interview with Erika Tham

Bringin' it Backwards

02/21/22 • 38 min

We had the pleasure of interviewing Erika Tham over Zoom video!
LA-based pop/R&B singer-songwriter and actress Erika Tham makes a fiery entrance this year with new single “Shhh” and premieres the sultry coinciding Patrick Wilcox-directed video today. Co-written with GRAMMY-nominated producers Deion Gill (Kelly Rowland, Miguel, Playboi Carti, Usher) and Major Myjah (Chris Brown, J.Cole, Ty Dolla $ign), the tongue-in-cheek track demonstrates Erika’s lyrical wit and seductive flow as she puts every mansplaining fuckboy firmly in their place. Paying homage to the unapologetic female pop stars of the ‘90s, “Shhh” is a loose spin off Shania Twain’s 1997 megahit “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and laced with alluring Asian string instrumentation against a modern R&B production.
“Shhh” is the follow up to Erika Tham’s 2021 debut release “Admit It” also co-written with Deion Gill and Major Myjah. The track landed on Spotify's 'Fresh Finds: The Wave' and received positive praise from Earmilk, HollywoodLife, Noctis Magazine, Ones To Watch, Raydar Magazine, Viper Magazine, Wonderland, among others. The acoustic ballad version, which arrived with a video this past November, featured Brian Kennedy (Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson) on the piano and grabbed the attention of Teen Vogue who listed it as their "pick for Best New Music Friday."
A beautifully blended mix of four nationalities—her father is Chinese-Malaysian and a mother is Dutch/Ukrainian-Canadian—Erika Tham is a stunning representation of global beauty and a powerhouse singer, songwriter, and actor with the innate ability to reach a worldwide audience with her sultry, sophisticated, and nuanced pop vocals.
With talent radiating from her every pore, Erika is a performer at heart. She is a natural on stage who is inspired by the phrasing and cadences in rap songs, but also the orchestral and melodic music of the Disney renaissance era.
Following an outstanding acting career as a teen, where she starred as Corki in Nickelodeon’s ‘Make It Pop’ (executive produced by Nick Cannon) and appeared in other television shows including the Disney Channel original movie ‘Kim Possible’ and FOX’s ‘Star’, Erika realized that her true passion and love were with music. She is most at home in the studio, and music is her creative outlet. Her yearning and desire to find where she fit in and belonged, gave her the strength and sense of purpose to create, to envision, and to elevate the ideas, emotions, and sounds that run rampant through her music.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Aiyana-Lee over Zoom video!
R&B-pop singer Aiyana-Lee releases her debut EP ‘WEDNESDAY’S CHILD (SIDE A)’ (HITCO). The seven-track project will lead into a forthcoming full-length album WEDNESDAY’S CHILD, out later this year.
Also out today is the official video for “Gangster of Love”, the Top 10 US R&B Radio track which she performed on the hit daytime talk show “The Real.” Directed by Nayip Ramos, the gritty visual shows a playful Aiyana-Lee strutting through a jail cell as a wanted criminal while professing her innocence and her title as the “Gangster of Love”. Ramos previously directed the video for “Killa Killa” (with KSI) which racked up over 8 million video views and hit #27 on the UK Singles Chart.
Combining elements of pop, R&B and soul with poignant, heartfelt lyrics, Aiyana-Lee’s powerhouse vocals have already captivated listeners and amassed over 60 million streams and video views. With athletic vocals that are both powerful and emotive, Aiyana-Lee’s voice is a refreshing, powerful sight to behold.
On ‘WEDNESDAY’S CHILD (SIDE A)’, Aiyana-Lee taps an impressive list of collaborators including GRAMMY Award-Winning producer Neff-U (Michael Jackson, Doja Cat), Sebastian Kole (Alicia Keys, Alessia Cara), Nathalia Marshall (Kiana Lede, Bebe Rexha) & multi-platinum singer-songwriter Nicole Daciana Anderson (BLUE), who is also Aiyana-Lee’s mother, manager and creative partner.
ABOUT AIYANA-LEE
21-year-old Aiyana Lee grew up surrounded by music— her uncle was David Ruffin of The Temptations, and her grandfather was famed American soul singer Jimmy Ruffin. Starting her journey of singing at the age of two, she jumped on stage whenever she had the chance and grabbed the mic and belt out lyrics as a toddler when her mother brought her on tour. She moved to Los Angeles from London with her mother at the age of 15 to further pursue her music career. An artist whose vocal depth speaks for itself, Aiyana-Lee is the most recent signing to legendary music producer & executive LA Reid’s entertainment company HITCO.
