When they first met neither Eddie nor Taj were ordinary people. Eddie was a star running back for The Ohio State University and Taj was 1/3 of R&B group SWV. Their first meeting in 1994 Taj didn't give Eddie the time of day. Their second meeting in 1995 didn't fair much better. What did it take for these two to finally come together and what hardships came along the way? In this 2017 interview from the second season of Black Love Doc, Taj and Eddie share how a pro NFL star and a music sensation led to a long term long distance relationship, what pushed them to get married, and how hard it was for them to navigate their new marriage and pregnancy together while keeping their professional dreams alive.

Julie & Mark Threats

Mark and Julie met in the church but Julie wasn't paying any attention to Mark. Both were coming back to the church and both really wanted to be married after they had experienced failed marriages. After two years, and a ride in an old '65 Cadillac, Julie and Mark would start dating. Their early relationship was uneventful, but Mark was hiding a secret. He would preach on Sundays but when he was not preaching he would live a whole other life. He had a drinking problem, a weed problem, a cocaine problem, he was a womanizer, and even though Julie knew he had struggles in the past, she had no idea that Mark was still living this secret life; a secret life that would continue under her nose for five years until a health scare would force him out into the open. Julie would make a list of requirements that she would hand to Mark as conditions to her staying in the marriage. Through faith, counseling and love they were able to continue forward and would find a new purpose in counseling other couples who find themselves in the troubles that they once endured.
