Nian Hu and Amanda Krause wrote a fascinating article for Business Insider about Jif Peanut Butter, that sparked my recent obsession with peanut butter. On February 19, around 12:20pm I received a message from a friend, let’s call her Kim, well because after all her name is Kim. Kim wanted to know if I had anytime to chat about podcasting? No preambles, no small talk, you know, "hey how you doing?" "I hope you and yours are doing well" and then jump into the purpose of the text. Nope! There was none of that just straight to the point. “Hey do you have any time to chat about podcasting?” And I like that, get right to the heart of the matter. Podcasting! Podcasting? Sure I love talking about podcasting, I love listening to podcasts. Kim will be launching her podcast later this month-(The Run Wave) and asked me to be a guest on her show. We recorded our episode on Sunday, at some point the conversation turned toward peanut butter, specifically how to make a PBJ sandwich, and that’s when I lost it. Hearing the news, of Kim toasting the bread came as a shock, while we were still recording, I asked myself, why would you need to toast the bread? Was I judging Kim? No not in the least-(maybe slightly, not her existence just her peanut butter preparation choices) Shhhh! I can hear you judging me, its okay though I get. I was curious! In my mind there had to be a reason why she needed to toast the bread-who does that? She probably store her peanut butter in the fridge. Our sticky peanut butter discussion needed an impartial arbitrator, so I took the matter to Facebook for an informal survey, with a simple question: where do you store your peanut butter? My recent obsession with peanut butter led to this episode, which covers The Mandela Effect and the longest running trademark war in history-the battle between Skippy Peanut and Percy Crosby's Comic Strip Skippy. Enjoy.

Two months ago I picked up Mark in New Haven near Yale, I hit him with my standard opening line "Looks like we're heading to New Jersey?" to which Mark said: "Huh, wait what? We're not going to Jersey". That line is usually met with surprise, because no one likes going to Jersey. After the shock wore off, we continued chatting and I shared my desire to travel across the country and do a mini documentary in my Mini Cooper. That's when Mark told me about his friend Rob's "Crazy" project and I knew instantly, I wanted to have him on the Podcast, because he's my brand of "crazy" Rob is originally from Norristown, he spent some time in Philly now he lives in Long Beach California. Rob graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Finance and minors in Accounting & Entrepreneurship. After graduation, he began his career with Deloitte Consulting as a Business Analyst in Strategy & Operations. He took a huge pay cut and started working at a tech start-up. Somewhere along the he began to have a longing for genuine human connection, so he set this audacious goal of meeting 10,000 1:1 for an hour. "I started this project to see if I could meet with people to chat for an hour for absolutely no reason and held my first meeting on November 11, 2015." On Monday, June 20, 2016, he was told he wouldn’t have a job, the tech start-up was acquired by a larger company, which didn’t require his position. "I dove in full-time on my endeavor to meet 10,000 different people for an hour each. I love adventure and I love potential – I think this project has both so I’ve been greatly satisfied with how it’s gone so far and can’t wait to continue giving it 110% to see where it goes!" As today May 22, 2019 Rob has completed 2,620 1:1 conversations with random people, to find our more about Rob's project visit Robs10KFriends He usually hangs on IG: Robs10KFriends

In today's episode, we talk about switching up your news diet and a NYT article -(faces of power). In the wake of 911, I log on to Twitter before the broadcast I noticed #allbuildingsmatter. My sister survived the tower attacks and I wouldn't make jokes about a tragic event. I can see the irony in the hashtag. I don't own any pearls and if I did, I wouldn't be clutching them now even at the sight of seeing the hashtag #allbuildingsmatter. #Allbuildingsmatter is an an absurd response to 911 just as #alllivesmatter and #bluelivesmatter is to #blacklivesmatter. There's enough outrage to be dispersed throughout the world, I'd like to conserve mine for things that matter.

We all face our own private battles, some give us a peek into the interior working of their lives in hopes of inspiring others who maybe going through a similar trial. There's not right way or wrong way to handle your personal situation. The creator in me might be inclined to document thing and somethings, but some private and never make the light of day.

The truth still matters, even though some may want to create an alternate universe, the truth still matters. Even those that believe in alternative facts they don't want to be lied to. A hard truth to deal with is, if the democrats take the same approach in 2016 we're going to have a repeat performance.
