Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 13 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

Apologies once again. As stated at the end of the previous episode of the show, originally this one was going to be on the original cast recording of the 2019 off-Broadway production of Night Of The Living Dead: The Musical! but unfortunately due to some things that came up on the guest's end, the episode wasn't able to be recorded. Don't worry, that episode will come in a future date instead. Plus because of that, the podcast needed to be delayed by one week due to the change in scheduling. Once again, apologies for that. For this episode of the show, your host Bede has decided to take a trip to the world of literature to dive into a short story anthology that's inspired by the original NOTLD film with the 2017 novel Nights Of The Living Dead: An Anthology, which was edited/curated by George A. Romero himself & Jonathan Mayberry and features story contributions from writers Joe R. Lansdale, Brian Keene, David J. Schow, Carrie Ryan, John Skipp, John A. Russo, Chuck Wendig, Isaac Marion and many more.

Joining Bede to discuss on this anthology novel that's set during Night Of The Living Dead are two first-time guests who have a lot of experience in the world of horror literature: writers Aaron Dries (author of the books House Of Sighs, Dirty Heads and Cut To Care: A Collection Of Little Hurts, which you can buy at his official website here) and Zachary Ashford (author of Sole Survivor, Sole Survivor II: Drop Bears On The Loose and When The Cicadas Stop Singing, which you can buy at his official website here). Highlights in this one include Aaron & Zachary discussing the first time they both saw the original Night Of The Living Dead film, which stories stood out for each of them from the novel, what did they think of George A. Romero's shorty story contribution, the genre-mash up that Bede absolutely loved, how the audio book version brings out the cinematic quality of some of the stories, praise the consistent quality of the novel and many more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 6 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

Apologies for the one week delay on this episode of the show. Originally this one was going to be on the films Night Of The Living Dead 3D (2006) and its prequel Night Of The Living Dead: Re-Animation 3D (2012) that was mentioned at the end of the previous episode but due to scheduling conflicts between myself and my guests, we weren't able to record that in time for its due date. Don't worry, that episode will be coming very soon in the future. In the meantime though, your host Bede has some exciting stuff to talk with the two other NOTLD related films he has arranged for this episode: the 2009 experimental animated film Night Of The Living Dead: Reanimated and the 2010 short film A Chemical Skyline (how does it connect to the NOTLD? You'll have to listen to find out!).

Joining Bede to discuss this animated feature and short film is first-time guest & long-time friend Beatrix Harper (owner/writer of Goodness Bea). Highlights in this episode include Bea telling us about when she first saw the original NOTLD, discussing the many different animations styles for Night Of The Living Dead: Reanimated, which type of animation couldn't help but make Bede laugh every time it was onscreen, whether A Chemical Skyline does work as a short film overall, the one character who annoyed Bede, wonder whether the film's connection to the world of NOTLD is a fun or unnecessary edition and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to a special bonus episode of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

Since this year marks the 55th anniversary of Night Of The Living Dead, your host Bede wanted to do something special to commemorate the film's milestone. Bede decided that throughout the month of October in-between the main episodes of the podcast, there will also be some bonus episodes that will be released. What will the subject of these bonus episodes be? Well, they're going to be interviews with some of the filmmakers behind some of the independent remakes and re-imaginings of NOTLD. Since he has discussed a lot if them in previous episodes, Bede thought it would be interesting to talk to these filmmakers, discuss their process about putting their stamp on the original film and what inspired them to want to do their own take on the story. For this third one, Bede chatted to Connor Noble, the writer/director/co-star of the 2021 indie Night Of The Living Dead remake (which was discussed on episode 17 of the podcast). Enjoy!

Night Of The Living Dead (2021) has not be released yet, but you can find trailers and more infomation on the film at Falling Star Cinemas YouTube here.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 5 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

Well, it's now 2023 and that means a brand new year for the podcast. After starting off strong with the first four episodes at the end of the last year, your Bede promises a lot of exciting things coming up for the podcast this year with all the many different versions of Night Of The Living Dead he'll be tackling. Being that this is the first episode for 2023, it's only appropriate to bring you all a jam-packed with this fifth episode of the show. In this one, our host will diving into the both the controversial colourised version and comedy troupe Rifftrax's live episode of the original 1968 Night Of The Living Dead.

Joining Bede to discuss these two unique versions of NOTLD are returning guest Marcus Wilturner (critic/contributor of The Super Network) along with first-time guests Amiedoll and John Seavey (host of the podcast Half Price Horror). Highlights in this episode include Bede and his guests wonder if the original NOTLD needed to be colourised, how the feel of the film changes now that it's in colour, the odd colour choices for certain scenes, our favourite funny moments from the live Rifftrax version, the differences between the live show and the pre-recorded commentary, how some of the jokes made us notice things that we have never seen before in the film and so much more.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 16 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

If you remember all the way back on episode 3 of the show, Bede delved into both a short film homage and comedic redubbing of the Night Of The Living Dead, which were the 1990 short Night Of The Living Bread and the 1991 film Night Of The Day Of The Dawn Of The Son Of The Bride Of The Return Of The Revenge Of The Terror Of The Attack Of The Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2 In Shocking 2-D. During that episode, Bede mentioned that there was another short film and comedic redubbing out there, and that he would tackle them on a future episode of the podcast. Well, as promised, that very epsiode has finally arrived. For this one, Bede will be be looking at the 2018 short film Dead Neighbors and Night Of The British Dead, a 2021 British comedic redubbing of the original NOTLD from The Ridiculous Film Company.

Joining Bede to to discuss of these two films, is a returning guest who actually was on episode 3 to chat about the previous short film and comedic redubbing that the show tackled: Lindsay Wilkins, the host of the double feature podcast Schlock & Awe. Highlights in this one include Bede & Lindsay discussing now Dead Neighbors is a loving tribute to George A. Romero, how the short explores childhood fears and how they inspired us, the cameo from an original cast member of NOTLD, how does Night Of The British Dead compare as a redubbing to Night Of The Day Of The Dawn..., the jokes that made us laugh, wonder the point of redubbing a film if most of the dialogue is from the original film and so much more.

Welcome to the debut episode of Bede & Steve Vs. Camp Crystal Lake. The official spin-off podcast to Bede Vs. The Living Dead, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Steven T. Boltz explore the classic slasher franchise Friday The 13th, along with its rip-offs, fan films, unproduced scripts, TV shows, comic books and so much more.

Well, everyone. It's finally arrived. After announcing it at the end of episode 22 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead, Bede and friend Steven's new podcast together on all things Friday The 13th has released its first episode. Ever since it first hit the big screen back in 1980, the F13 series has without question one of most popular and beloved horror franchises of all time. As big fans of the films themselves, your hosts are excitied to go on this journey and dive into every aspect of F13. Not only just the films, but in other parts of media as well. However before they do, it's only fair that for this very first episode that they start with the film that started it all: the original 1980 horror classic Friday The 13th, which was directed by Sean S. Cunningham and written by Victor Miller.

Highlights in this episode include Bede & Steven discussing how they were introduced to the F13 series, which one of the sequels changed Bede's life forever, praising the naturalistic feel of the first Friday The 13th film, how the characters in this film are likeable, diving into Tom Savini's make-up and gore effects, Bede's obesession with Steve's short-shorts, the controversal snake death scene, how the film tackles the red herrings of who the killer is, Steven explains the film compares to the original script, wondering whether Mrs. Voorhees' reveal as the killer would have been more effective if she was introduced earlier and so much more. Plus, Bede & Steven give us a segement called "Did They Deserve To Die?", where they debate which characters in the film they shouldn't have been killed. Social Media Links:

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 14 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

After taking a detour in the past two episodes exporing versions of Night Of The Living Dead in radio, theatre and books, it's time to return to the realm of cinema and delve into another reinterpitation of the classic 1968 film. For this 14th episode of the podcast, your host Bede will be looking at the 2020 independent remake Rebirth from writer/director/star Roger Conners, which takes a very unique approach by gender-swapping the main character of "Barbara" to "Adam" and tackling LGBTIQA+ themes within its story.

Joining Bede to discuss this version of Night Of The Living Dead are both returning guest Super Marcey (co-host on the many podcasts on The Super Network with Bede and the host her own solo show After Dark With Super Marcey) and first-time guest Tim Davis (co-host of the podcast Dummies Of Horror). Highlights in this one include Tim telling us about when he first saw the original NOTLD (plus, his controversial opinion on its sequel Dawn Of The Dead), what they thought of the change of "Barbara" to "Adam" in this version, how the film updates its themes for today, praise how the filmmakers achieved so much with the low budget, which two cast members stood out the most with their performances, the film's surprising amount of zombie nudity and so much more.

Also Bede brings back the segment that he hasn't done for a couple of episodes The Living Dead Unreleased, which is a quick discussion on a version of Night Of The Living Dead that either hasn't been released yet or has never been made. For this one, Bede and his guests discuss an Australian take on NOTLD that you probably didn't know existed because it has barely been released: Cooma Little Theatre's 2019 remake of Night Of The Living Dead, which has a pretty interesting story behind it.

Hey, everyone! Welcome to episode 21 of Bede Vs. The Living Dead. The podcast where your host Bede Jermyn explores the remakes, re-edits, reimaginings, homages, unofficial follow-ups and more to George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night Of The Living Dead across all media.

Now that we've passed the milestone 20th episode of the podcast, your host Bede continues his journey exploring every iteration of Night Of The Living Dead that has been made so far. After tackingly the TV side of NOTLD in the past two episodes, Bede heads back into the world of literature by taking a look at NOTLD co-writer John A. Russo's 1978 sequel novel: Return Of The Living Dead, which was adapted, if mostly in name-only, into the 1985 cult classic horror/comedy of the same name.

Joining Bede to discuss this novel sequel to Night Of The Living Dead is writer/podcaster Stephanie Crawford. Highlights in this one include Stephanie telling Bede about the first time she saw the original NOTLD, what Bede & Stephanie thought of reading the Return Of The Living Dead novel for the first time, how different the novel is from its 1985 film adaptation, how John A. Russo continues the story 10 years after the events of NOTLD, which moments in the novel did Bede & Stephanie find the most effective, wonder if Russo's descriptions of certain zombie attacks is a little too much and so much more.
