Beautiful Second Act

In midlife and beyond, we've hopefully learned that trying to be perfect is unattainable, and a bit ridiculous. This stressful way of being only creates a life of disillusionment , and cannot give you the ease and peace that accepting yourself just as you are does.
In this episode, I talk about how after a lifetime of trying to control situations and striving to be as perfect as I could be, I am finally in a place of flow and joy, enjoying myself just as I am. We've reached midlife (or beyond), and know now that all those years we spent trying to be a certain size, trying to be a certain way to appease others, was just a waste to our peace of mind. If we can just love life and enjoy being who we truly are, others will see us in a brighter light as well.
I spoke of a music video from Colbie Caillat called TRY:
Here it the video LINK

I have a blog about writing my book, AFTER THE FIRE, where I have interviews and info on what was going on in our community in Lake County, during the four years it took me to write my romance novel about the 2015 Valley Fire:

Being Greek and Living Your Best Life/ Dena Paskaly Interview

When you grow up in a huge Greek family, there are no secrets, but there is a whole lot of fun.
Join me, as I interview Dena Paskaly, a midlife business woman, who lives every day as if it were her last. She's a traveler, owns a successful, and busy gated senior living community, and is the most fun person I have come across. She has two beautiful grown daughters, and she and her partner, Ari, have traveled the globe.
Being Greek, Dena had a unique, if not fascinating upbringing, where having 32 first cousins made her life more like the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, than one could imagine. Their lives were always up for scrutiny by the rest of the large family, but you never wanted to cross any of them, for fear the rest of the Greeks would be after you. Only THEY could criticize their own family.
I hope you enjoy this special interview where we had just a bit too much wine, laughed a whole lot, and talk about how the love of a good family can mold us into living our best lives.

Loving Change In Midlife / Rhonda Vargas Interview

Rhonda Vargas loves change. She embraces it. Never one to live a stagnant life, Rhonda has owned businesses, sold them, worked for other companies, and started all over again running her own online business in the middle of a pandemic. If that isn't enough, she and her husband decided to sell their home in Northern California, where they were settled with many friends, and moved to a town in Arizona where they only knew a few people.
Being a cancer survivor, Rhonda wastes no time in life. She says, "You have to do it scared. Just do it, whatever it is you are wanting to do."
This interview was done over Zoom, and recorded for the podcast, and I sincerely hope you all understand the message in this conversation that, life is a journey. You have to keep moving forward. Sitting still and waiting won't get you to the good stuff.
