Even if it’s not summer where you are, you’ll love this solo episode!

This practical and energizing exercise will ensure that the season ahead is experienced (and ENJOYED) by DESIGN and not by default.

So many people find that summer goes so quickly and gets away from them and then before they know it, they look back with regret, missed opportunities and can’t even remember what they did all summer.

Has this happened to you? Do you feel like it’s already starting with all of the graduation parties and weddings, other invitations and new responsibilities?

Jill shares a really energizing and practical exercise so that you can truly have a summer of YOU.

Show Notes:

[2:55] - Let’s have an attitude of intentionality going into the summer.

[5:05] - We can be grateful for busy plans, and we can also feel overwhelmed.

[8:18] - Literally write down the things you want to experience this summer AND the things you don’t want to experience.

[10:59] - Jill shares some of the things on her list.

[13:48] - You can have amazing and beautiful experiences that don’t cost a dime. What do you want to experience?

[16:50] - Sometimes we need something to cleanse our palette when things get too much.

[19:13] - Whatever you do by default is what you do all the time.

[18:46] - Jill moves into discussing ten signs that you are embodying healing work, beginning with being less reactive. [19:39] - The second sign is trusting your own judgment and decisions without seeking others' opinions. [20:02] - The third sign is that you enjoy being alone, but note that there is a difference between solitude and isolation. [20:33] - No longer catastrophizing or at least doing it a lot less is another sign. [21:28] - Jill discusses the fifth sign of healing: no longer feeling the need to apologize for imaginary wrongs. [22:54] - The seventh sign is that you've learned to appreciate slowness and simple pleasures. [24:56] - Related to the seventh sign, it's important not to feel guilty about taking time to rest. [25:50] - The ninth sign that Jill discusses is that you've stopped being overly critical of others, seeing them as wonderful without the need for criticism. [26:21] - Jill's final sign is that you recognize recurring patterns without self-criticism, instead giving yourself grace and understanding.
