Atish

Atish plays from the soul with a smile on his face. His charm flows as freely as his grooves, and his infectious personality is poured into every performance. The links he makes are not just musical but personal, too, as he communicates the highs and lows of life through his sounds. As an unmistakably warm person, he has quickly built up a dedicated fan base that feeds off his passion and energy. The Atish experience is about more than just dancing - it's about connection. There is an intimacy and elegance to the music Atish plays whether it's deep house, Romanian minimal, artful techno, or emotive progressive house. Melody unites it all - whimsical keys and curious synth patterns that stir a wide range of emotions and get lodged deep in the memory. For Atish, the challenge is to lead an audience into unexpected new worlds: they won't know how they got there but will be delighted when they arrive. It's a subtle skill he has mastered while never taking himself too seriously. His own productions have come on cultured labels like Anjunadeep, Satya, and Stil Vor Talent. The Manjumasi Music label he co-founded with Mark Slee in 2016 deals in house with real heart and musicality. The aim is simply to work with artists whose music they admire; to give a leg up to those who deserve it, then watch them grow, whether with his label or elsewhere. He is similarly open-minded and candid on social media and recently wrote some software to analyze a year's worth of playlists before discussing the results. He's also keen to demystify the often shadowy and secretive world of DJing and production and open it up to all, which is why he started his own unique party series, Late Night Tonite. Each event started with a sit-down interview with the guest and a conversation about the creative arts before the dancing began. That now dormant concept led Atish to start his own mentorship program during the Covid lockdowns. He continues it to this day, with students enjoying one-on-one coaching, feedback, and advice sessions in which he shares what he has learned about all aspects of the industry. In truth, this career chose him rather than the other way around: as a long-time and obsessive music collector, he was happy enough to play on the side around his software engineering day job. But he was making such a mark on the parties he played that word got out and the bookings kept on coming. He decided to throw himself into music rather than live to regret the missed opportunity and hasn't looked back since. Atish has forged his own path and proven that DJs need not hide behind the music. Instead, Atish is right there to share the moments with you. Contact: [email protected]

Download: atish.lnk.to/terrazzo Finally my first studio mix in 8 months, feels like it’s been forever! This features a walk through some of the sounds that have caught my ear the last few months, touching on a few different styles and feelings. I had recently spent some time in Barcelona, observing terrazzo style flooring with shells set within polished concrete. This felt like an apt metaphor for this DJ mix, where each track is an ornamental shell, helping support a greater polished purpose. Hope you enjoy! Happy to release a new mix today. This one is an hour clip from a longer recording posted on my Patreon page. When people ask what's my favorite place (outside Burning Man) to DJ, The Bow in Buenos Aires is always in my top 3. Argentinians have a passion for music that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the world (and really a passion for just about everything). Most track breakdowns are met with huge cheers, and even when the night ends, the crowd refuses to go home as they hang around after 6am demanding more music. It’s really a DJ’s dream. Another thing I love about The Bow is that it’s a 3000 person club, but the DJ booth is pretty low to the ground and within arm’s reach of the audience. The club has the perfect blend of energy and intimacy that holds a dear place in my heart. This is a recording from my 2017 set at The Bow. Once this pandemic ends, I desperately hope to play there again. It’s a bit on the driving side, but takes a couple turns towards the deeper side to balance it out. Hope you enjoy! And if you'd like access to the full recording, you can check out my Patreon page, which already features exclusive sets from Badaboum in Paris, Desert Hearts, Atish All Night and more: patreon.com/atishmusic Tracklist: https://bit.ly/atish-dec-mix-tracklist Sign up for my mailer: bit.ly/atishmusic Big thanks to all my Patreon supporters, VIP tier and above: Alex Kremer, Darius, Darryll Fish, Drew Proud, Jarry Ahmad, John Carter, Justin Campbell, Michael Alahverdian, Michael Singleton, Rami Zeidan, Shah&Shah, Varun Parekh, Vincent Casanova - connect with me - facebook.com/atishmusic instagram.com/atishmusic @atish Check my latest gigs here: www.bandsintown.com/atish / bit.ly/atishsk

I'm happy to share some music that drifts its way through a passage of sounds. These tunes span a range of styles all under the umbrella of house (or techno, in the case of dub techno), shared by the feeling of floating, buoyed above a sea that moves it. I was also happy to sneak in a couple unreleased @Manjumasi tunes in there, including a number from our first ever vinyl release coming out soon. Hope you enjoy! As of late I've been observing recurring themes of devotion in my life and in those of people around me. Devotion to the artform, devotion to our friends, family, and lovers, devotion to what we want to achieve. Devotionals, in the religious sense, are a way for humans to get closer to God. While personally I'm not one to preach any religious dogma, I do believe there is a spiritual message is house music that we can all understand, and I tried to communicate that in this mix. Hopefully it came through, and hope you enjoy... Hello, August. I consider this month's mix as an extension of where June left off on the lighter, melodic side of deep house. Usually I try to contrast sounds from month to month, but as you may have noticed, there is an absence of a July mix which would was intended to be a darker, more driving collection of music. The truth is that kind of mix didn't work at that particular time for me, so when stepping into August, I threw July out the window and stuck my gut and what I was feeling: easy, beautiful, Music... I'm pretty excited for Burning Man to say the least. I hope you are lucky enough to have the time and resources to go this year. At risk of sounding parental, if this is your first time burning, or even if you're a veteran, please do remember that Burning Man isn't a music festival. Burning Man is a gathering of people focused on community, participation, creativity, and survival...which just happens to have music. I do hope you get a chance to see me and other DJs you enjoy play, but hopefully the music will complement the other magical experiences you have on the playa...but feel free listen to all my mixes on the long desert drive there :)...if you do catch me on the playa (on or off the decks), be sure to say hi! And without further ado, here's what I have lined up: Tuesday Afternoon Tutu Tuesday | Short Stack | 7:15+G (my camp!) Wednesday Afternoon Pink Mammoth | 8:30 + F Thursday Afternoon Atish + MightyKat | Kazbah | 10:00 + G Thursday Night Atish All Night | Panda Lounge | 8:30 + A Friday Night Robot Heart with Lee Burridge and Friends You can follow me on facebook: facebook.com/atishmusic and if you'd like to get emails with me rambling about music and upcoming gigs, have a looksie here: http://bit.ly/atishemailaug Die Vogel - Mesmerize Nu, Julia Go - Places Britta Arnold - Chicken Curry (Lee Jones Remix) Bluford Duck - Eye See (Patrick Podage & Nikola Kotevski) Gregory S, Dandy - Nightvision (Gorje & Izhevski Remix) Bearight - Buoyant Rufus - Desert Night (Jesse Rose Remix) Pablo Inzunza - Sunless Days Enawadan - Inner Joys Of Life (Paskal & Urban Absolutes) Yoko Duo - First in Line (Lake People Remix)

atish - atish - [034] - april 2013 - dynamism
play

Dynamism....from a metaphysical perspective, it's the belief that the nature of every substance contains an expression of the universe. As an artistic movement, dynamism is the capture of an objects motion - both intrinsic and relative to its environment. To me, Dynamism is the push and pull of intensity and energy. I consider this mix one of my more ambitious efforts, aiming to work through strong swings of intensity, melody, and motion while still staying on some semblance of a cogent course. I find that this is a mix that I enjoy the more I listen to it, which usually isn't the case. I hope it resonates with you as much as it does for me. Here's what I have going these next few weeks: April 26 - Toy-Toy, Johannesburg, South Africa April 27 - Fiction, Cape Town, South Africa May 1-6 - AfrikaBurn, Tankwa Town, South Africa May 15 - Mumbai, India (venue to be confirmed) May 17 - Level Two, Melbourne, Australia May 18 - Spice Cellar, Sydney, Australia May 19 - TBA, Australia Feel free to follow me on facebook here: http://facebook.com/atishmusic Tracklist: Sebo K - Shades of Red [Mobilee 2013] Mano Andri - Cinematic [Cyclic Records 2013] Moomin - you neva know [Closer 2013] QMUSSE, Dubaa - Message (Version 1) [Itom Records 2013] Dominik Eulberg - Der Tanz Der Gluehweurmchen (Kollektive Turmstrasse "Dirt Glow" Remix) [Traum 2011] Daso, Pawas - El Paso (Yapacc Remix) [Brise Records 2009] SIS - Messara [Cocolino 2013] Anthony Collins - Prism [Freak N Chic 2009] Umit Han - An Einem Traurigen Morgen [Traum 2012] Konstantine Sibold - Gestade [Salon Rosi 2010] Nautiluss - Zero Gravity [3024 2013] Markas Palubenka - Kill Me (Few Nolder Remix) [Get Physical Music 2013]

For March, we explore what I like to call the richer side of deep house. I offer deep sub-bass lows complemented by warm spacey highs, lush synth sweeps, sensual vocal hooks, and a prog-influenced resolution. Progressive house has been entering my consciousness these last few months in various manifestations. These last few years, I admittedly thought "prog" was a dirty word, but as of late I've been finding music that holds on to the melodic beauty of prog, injects deep house grooves, yet still maneuvers away from the cheese the genre has been branded...all of which I think you'll hear in the 2nd half of this mix. If you like what you hear, repost it to your friends and feel free to follow me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/atishmusic Also, if you're in the Pacific Northwest, here are some upcoming gigs I'll be playing: March 29 - Seattle - Electric Tea Garden March 30 - Vancouver - Beaumont Studios March 31 - Victoria, BC - Temple Events Tracklist: 01. Gorje Hewek, Izhevski - Inspire 02. Arthur Oskan - Exit Strategy 03. Marvin Zeyss - Hidden Emotion 04. Canson - Kuma 05. Jon Donson - The Way It Is (Patrick Podage Remix) 06. Hunter_Game - Blue Earth 07. Jody Wisternoff, Pete Josef - Just One More (Martin Roth Remix) 08. Martin Roth - Beautiful Life 09. Mathias Vogt - Sierra Nevada 10. J. Wiltshire - Closer 11. Veitengruber - Supervision This mix was also featured for my friends who run the Electronic Groove podcast...be sure to check them out! (http://www.electronicgroove.com/EG379Atish.php)

Hello Hot Dogs! I've waited for this day for over 14 years: mix #100 is live. When I released my first mix in 2010, I titled it [001] instead of [01]. Using three digits was aspirational, a quiet promise to myself that I might one day reach triple digits. These mixes trace the narrative of my adult life. They've been the thread connecting me with so many of you—some I'll never meet, others who've become close friends (and even roommates—hi Dan, hi James). Back when I released my first mix in 2010, we were still buying mix CDs for our cars. Soundcloud was just emerging, and I committed to monthly releases to this new platform. I may be overreaching here, but I can’t remember any other DJs presenting conceptual mixes, monthly, as packaged works of art: a conceptual title, description, and artwork. That consistency and novelty helped build a following outside of my local scene, and when my 2012 Robot Heart recording came out, things really took off internationally. By 2015, the momentum led me to leave my software engineering job for full-time DJing—largely thanks to these Soundcloud mixes. I was purely a DJ then with a nascent Manjumasi label formed with Mark Slee, not releasing my first original track “Peculiar Colors” until 2017. The landscape in 2024 looks different. As Soundcloud rotted to hell and Spotify rose, the value of mixes has sharply declined. With thousands released daily, they've become ubiquitous. The career path for electronic artists now revolves around original productions and social media presence. This industry evolution pushed me toward producing my own music, opening up new creative paths I'm grateful for. The social media aspect has felt natural, as it's been an integral part of my project from the start. These last few years, the touring schedule, studio time, and home life as a husband and father slowed me down from my monthly cadence, but each mix still feels like a deep-rooted part of my message to the world, (mostly) through other people's music. Mix [100] was recorded September 7, 2024, at Public Works in San Francisco, the city that "raised me" as a club kid, where I first learned to DJ. This 5-hour set marked my last show in North America before taking an indefinite mental health break from touring. Playing this set was emotional, to the point of tears in the DJ booth, with support pouring in from both new listeners and those who've been there since the beginning. I couldn’t think of a better way to reach 100. I've also created http://www.atish100.com to house all my mixes and their 1,400+ tracklists in one place, which I'll keep updating as new mixes go up on Soundcloud and YouTube. This mix marks a meaningful milestone for me. Thank you for making this journey possible. You, and the 1400+ artists and labels I referenced helped create a life I never imagined.
