Hello, August. I consider this month's mix as an extension of where June left off on the lighter, melodic side of deep house. Usually I try to contrast sounds from month to month, but as you may have noticed, there is an absence of a July mix which would was intended to be a darker, more driving collection of music. The truth is that kind of mix didn't work at that particular time for me, so when stepping into August, I threw July out the window and stuck my gut and what I was feeling: easy, beautiful, Music... I'm pretty excited for Burning Man to say the least. I hope you are lucky enough to have the time and resources to go this year. At risk of sounding parental, if this is your first time burning, or even if you're a veteran, please do remember that Burning Man isn't a music festival. Burning Man is a gathering of people focused on community, participation, creativity, and survival...which just happens to have music. I do hope you get a chance to see me and other DJs you enjoy play, but hopefully the music will complement the other magical experiences you have on the playa...but feel free listen to all my mixes on the long desert drive there :)...if you do catch me on the playa (on or off the decks), be sure to say hi!
