anti-choice determinist
In this episode I read a page from George Ortega's book: Exploring the Illusion of Free Will. A search for his name on google books will help you find where you can download the PDF file. After that I talked about how I got into the subject of free will and how I originally discovered his work after he commented on one of my videos. George Ortega has spent a lot of time refuting free will. His website is full of information and links to what people are saying about free will and determinism. http://causalconsciousness.com/

In this episode I read the following story from the book of Genesis and talk about how the story presents a supernatural problem if it was true. "1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do:and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth:and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth:and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth." - "Genesis 11:1-9 KJV The Christians do not agree on whether their god is in control or whether we have a free will. Since we don't actually have a free will, then the confusion has only two explanations that make sense to me. Either this god is the source of the confusion and is controlling our brains, or this god doesn't exist in the first place to set the record straight on what is true and which religion is correct. If god is controlling our brains and can replace even the language we speak, then god must certainly also be the cause of people not believing that god exists anymore.

What is the difference between morality and legality? Are they the same or different? Do our beliefs about what is moral tell us what should be legal? Or do our ideas of what is moral come from what is legal? These are big questions and I would like to know what everyone thinks about them.
