7- Ed Gein- ”The Butcher of Plainfield”
Edward Gein, also known as “The Butcher of Plainfield” was a serial killer and body snatcher from Plainfield, Wisconsin. He was also the inspiration for several well-known movies: “Psycho”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, & “Silence of the Lambs”. Ed Gein confessed to killing two women and stealing numerous corpses of middle-age women that reminded him of his late Mother Augusta Gein. He followed the obituaries & made visits to three different nearby cemeteries. He then took them home to mutilate them in many gruesome ways. Ed Gein creations were made using body parts and flesh from his victims. He made a number of clothing, furniture and household items, but his biggest project was the “woman suit” he was making so that he could become his Mother. There is a strong likelihood that he also killed his brother Henry Gein and there may have been other victims before he was arrested. Join me for all the gory details! 9- Dave Kroupa- ”Dating Site Disaster”
In November of 2012 Cari Farver, a 36 year old single mother, vanished from Omaha, Nebraska. Texts sent indicated that she had quit her job just 2 weeks after meeting Dave Kroupa on a dating site. She abandoned her son, and cut all ties. Kroupa, was hurt, but he accepted the breakup-text at face value. Her mother, Nancy Raney, however, doubted that kind-hearted Cari had sent the rude texts she received and quickly reported Cari missing. While no one saw or spoke to Cari, more than 12,000 sinister emails and texts were sent in her name over the next years. Police were skeptical of Nancy's claim that an impostor had stolen her daughter's identity, but they believed Dave and his girlfriend, Shanna "Liz" Golyar, when they reported the missing woman was cyberstalking them. The tormentor was eerily aware of Dave's every move, and always knew when Liz visited. It never occurred to Dave that Cari was the real victim in this case.
