#087 | Gamification in Project Management with PM Zone Founders Hamutal Weisz & Daniel Zitter
05/22/22 • 49 min
Project Management is a big passion, and even though it can be serious a lot of time, sometimes it's important to make it fun too. In this episode, I talk to Project Management Experts and Gamification Experts Hamutal and Daniel about all things Projects and thinking about things differently when helping people learn. They are founders of the one-of-a-kind project management board game now in digital version too.
In this episode Daniel, Hamutal and I explore:
- Differences between project management industries
- Why gamification is important
- How people like to learn
- Where the idea for the product came from and how it was developed
- Writing a book and the process around it
- Why project fun is so vital to learning
- And much more...
Daniel Zitter loves project management, and he's happy to talk about it to anyone who will listen. He appreciates the complexities of managing a project. He enjoys discussing it with others and teaching the methodologies, thought processes, and how to deal with the questions and challenges that are sure to arise. And he's happy to share his knowledge and experience with clients, friends, and acquaintances – because he believes deeply in what he does, how he does it, and that doing it right makes a huge difference to the outcome. Daniel is an experienced and certified project manager. He is a licensed industrial engineer and holds a Project Management Practitioner Certification "In Good Standing" from the Project Management Institute (PMI). He is also an accredited PMO – Certified Consultant, of the PMO Global Alliance, and was a member of the Judging Committee for the past three years at PMO global awards competition.
Hamutal Weisz is a firm believer that project managers need to be stringent planners who adhere to strict deadlines and budgets, as well as free-flowing hippies who know how to dance around a problem and have enough flexibility of thought to solve things on the go. She says "the nature of a plan is to change; the nature of a project is to challenge us. In order to face those challenges and be the person who can lead a project to its successful conclusion, you need to be cool-headed.” Experience helps a lot too. Hamutal herself is a vastly-experienced project manager who has managed

#088 | Agile Ideas Meet-Up: A Conversation discussing Agile in Banking
Agile in Banking - what is it, what does it mean and why does it matter? I had a great time chatting with Lucy Grierson (Senior AMO Consultant, Banking Expert) and Philippa Scholl (Payments Product Development Expert) at our recent Agile Ideas Meet Up about all of the above.
We dove deep into the topic and explored:
- How the banking and finance industry is embracing agile
- What the biggest challenges are for banks
- What opportunities are coming from agile in banking
- The trends we are seeing play out across the sector
- Insights on the industry
and much, much more...
It was a great discussion, and also a good chance to hear from others in our Meet Up community and their thoughts on using agile in the banking industry. Thank you to all those who shared their insights and opinions.
I also got the chance to speak about our upcoming white paper, Agile In Banking, produced by the Agile Ideas team and industry experts. I am so excited for you to read it when it is launched next month - but until then, I hope you enjoy getting a taster of the topic from this episode of the podcast!
