A Better Way To Heal

Today we're talking with guest, Shanna Hess. She is on a mission to inspire stressed out mamas and to help them take their energy to the next level.
We talked about empowering women, mindset and gut health, as a school speech pathologist - what she sees in her students and how gut health affects them every day.

During the episode, we also discuss a significant event in her life that shaped why she’s focused on what she does now.

Her husband really is the one who opened her eyes and allowed her to see what she was missing.

Listen in and make sure you find Shanna on social media and introduce yourself!

Mental Wellness + Why It Matters.

Physical wellness isn't everything. 🙅🏼🙅🏼

In fact. I would argue that if you don't have your mental wellness as your #1 priority, your physical wellness will decline because of it.

And there's more coming. Politics, fires, and YOU NAME IT. There's a lot of stuff going on.😰

But we need to focus on the positives of this situation!!

This episode is such a timely message right now because I heard a few statistics the other day that FLOORED ME.

There was a study recently conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation that found the following:

✖️45% of Americans are being impacted by mental wellness issues.
✖️39% increase in anti-anxiety medications.
✖️19% increase in anti-depressants

I believe there is another phase of the pandemic - and that is the effect this pandemic will have on our long-term mental health.

This episode tackles a SOLUTION to the problem!!

Self-Care Isn't Selfish

Being the very best version of you means that you have to take care of YOU.

I think turning 40 this year, all of the COVID craziness and then losing my best friend Luke 🐶 just has me wanting to spread this message with you because it has never been more obvious to me that my mental health is KEY.

It's been a ROUGH year, and we have to do the work to take care of our mental health.

Especially right now as everything appears to be ramping back up again.

There are so many unknowns and so much fear from every corner - but the light at the end of the tunnel?!

It starts with YOU. It starts with me.

What we choose to pour into.
What we choose to digest.
What actions we take.
What words we speak.

And what we do FOR ourselves directly impacts those around us!!

Listen to the episode out today to gain a little encouragement, a little empowerment and little food for thought on this Wednesday.
