The murderer in today’s story did his killing in Cleveland, and several years ago, I was in Cleveland for work stuff for about a week. It’s one of those weird cities where I never fully felt safe. There are some really cool parts of the city that I enjoyed exploring. I really wanted to catch a Cavaliers game, but they were on the road the week I was there. I got my work done and still had a good time, but in certain parts of me wandering around, I think I actually said out loud to someone that was with me... if you’re trying to get murdered, this would be a convenient place. Then a couple streets over, it’s awesome again, and I had a fantastic lunch. It’s a weird city. Anthony Sowell was a resident of Mount Pleasant, which is a much less friendly neighborhood in Cleveland than the name suggests. In October 2009, police found the bodies of 11 women at his home. He had raped and killed all of them.
