The Resilience and Resistance podcast is about successful Black, Indigenous and Women of Color who are overcoming trauma and becoming resilient.

The vision for this podcast is to illuminate the dichotomy that many BIPOC female-identified individuals face in their daily lives; holding space for healing or managing past and present trauma, while maintaining a "professional" identity as they strive towards their work and other goals.

Aamber and Charlie understand that adulting as millennial black women in Los Angeles is not easy. These best friends started Ladies Doing Stuff Podcast so that women can know they are not alone in their desire for perfection, or even just for survival. After college graduation, the ladies simply picked up their high school friendship right where they left off; but they found that their adult lives were not that simple at all. Job losses, new marriages, and keeping friendships are just a few things that they learned to navigate along the way. All of this while living in Los Angeles, a city with not-so-many “angels” as it turns out. Aamber and Charlie created Ladies Doing Stuff Podcast as a safe space to share hilarious experiences, contrasting opinions, and to create a proudly imperfect community for women of color. Welcome to The Minority Leaders, a podcast highlighting the journeys of women of color changemakers in politics and policymaking.
I’m your host, Algene Sajery, a Capitol Hill veteran, foreign policy, national security and development finance expert, former presidential appointee, and current owner of a bespoke public affairs firm in Washington DC.
I also serve on the boards of the Leadership Council for Women in National Security and the Global Health Council, and as a member of Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security, Black Women’s Congressional Alliance, Black Professionals in International Affairs, and Women in Government Relations.
A graduate of Howard University, I am a proud member of the esteemed Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As the first woman of color to serve as policy director -or in any senior leadership role- on the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, I am dedicated to increasing woman and minority representation in national policymaking and politics.
This podcast is my love letter to the next generation of women of color political and policymaking leaders. It is a clarion call to women leaders to keep breaking every glass ceiling in our paths, because America desperately needs us. Let's do this.

Sweet is strong. A podcast for readers of romance, listeners who need a calm place to park their ears for a little bit, & for survivors of sexual violence. In this podcast I make space to explore ways of being, ways of being sensual, ways of being present, and just ways of being myself.
I am Dr. Roopa Bala Singh, your host.
Roopa is a former law school professor of race and property. Dr. Singh has a law degree from UC Berkeley, a Masters in Cinema Studies from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, and a PhD in law and history from Arizona State University. Roopa is a former Director at the San Francisco Rape Crises Center (Community Initiatives, SFWAR).
Roopa comes from gharana-trained, nationally recognized Indian classical musicians, as well as revolutionary lawyers and resisters in India. She was born in the Southside of Chicago, at the University of Chicago, and was raised across the United States (CA, NY, PA), India, and Sweden. Roopa and her son, Ravi Ali, are both overseas citizens of India and American citizens. The poetry continues. On her most recent trip to India, she lived in Kerala for a year with her son, while researching the lives of yoga teachers and wellness tourism workers.
