We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. But what happens when we can’t trust them? Dr. Death is the award-winning series hosted by Laura Beil, now in its fourth season: Bad Magic.

Need more Dr. Death? With Wondery+, you can listen to all episodes, unlock exclusive content, get early access to upcoming episodes, and enjoy an always ad-free experience. Start your free trial in the Wondery App or visit wondery.com/links/dr-death/ now.

When a charismatic young doctor announces revolutionary treatments for cancer and HIV, patients from around the world turn to him for their last chance. As medical experts praise Serhat Gumrukcu’s genius, the company he co-founded rockets in value to over half a billion dollars. But when a team of researchers makes a startling discovery, they begin to suspect the brilliant doctor is hiding a secret.

Season 3: Paolo is a smart and handsome surgeon, renowned for his ability to perform surgeries that transform his patients’ lives. When television producer Benita covers him for a story, he’ll transform her life too, but not in the ways she expects. As Benita crosses professional lines to be with him, she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets. And halfway around the world, four doctors at a prestigious medical institute make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything into question.

Season 2: If someone you love is diagnosed with cancer you want them to get the best treatment from the best doctors. In 2013, patients in Michigan thought Farid Fata was that doctor. Between his prestigious education, years of experience and pleasant bedside manner, Fata was everything you could want in a doctor. But he was not who he appeared to be. From Wondery, this is the story of hundreds of patients in Michigan, a doctor, and a poisonous secret.

Season 1: We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who - or what - is that system meant to protect? From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, Dr. Death is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients and a spineless system.

Every episode is divided into chapters and concludes with several key points to summarize the topic. We are always keen to receive your feedback on our podcasts, and we are accepting suggestions for additional topics. New episodes are published every Friday. 'Surgery 101' was created by Dr Parveen Boora and Dr Jonathan White, and is supported by the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta. PodcastDX is an interview based weekly series. Guests share experience based medical insight for our global audience. We have found that many people are looking for a platform, a way to share their voice and the story that their health journey has created. Each one is unique since even with the same diagnosis, symptoms and the way each person will react to a diagnosis, is different. Sharing what they have experienced and overcome is a powerful way our guests can teach others with similar ailments. Many of our guests are engaging in self-advocacy while navigating a health condition, many are complex and without a road-map to guide them along their journey they have developed their own. Sharing stories may help others avoid delays in diagnosis or treatment or just give hope to others that are listening. Sharing is empowering and has a healing quality of its own. Our podcast provides tips, hints, and support for common healthcare conditions. Our guests and our listeners are just like you- navigating the complex medical world. We hope to ease some tension we all face when confronted with a new diagnosis. We encourage anyone wanting to share their story with our listeners to email us at [email protected]

The Voices Unheard podcast exists to illuminate and amplify the frequently unheard voices of physicians and surgeons in today’s healthcare system. These bimonthly interview discussions are uncharacteristically transparent revealing the lived experiences of under-represented medical doctors who face unthinkable workplace discrimination and harassment related to gender, sexual identity, race, ethnicity, and other intersectional identities and/or ethical values that do not ’fit” into the status quo. In shining a light on these compelling personal stories we hope to fan the flame of sustainable culture change in medicine and surgery in order to transpose a safe, dignified, equitable, and inclusive workplace to future generations. For more information or to access our library of episodes with the associated links, please visit: www.voicesinmedicine.com

We invite you to experience Arthroscopy in a new way. Each podcast presents a detailed discussion of a journal article published in Arthroscopy via author interviews conducted by AANA members. These engaging podcasts are designed to expand the listener's understanding through discussion of unpublished results, examination of interesting or unexpected findings, or exploration of related content. Expert opinion by senior authors is often included. We intend these podcasts to be entertaining and informative. We have purposely avoided article summaries or recitation of an abstract. Listeners will benefit from listening to the podcast either before or after reading an article. For more audio, video and infographics, visit https://www.arthroscopyjournal.org.

We, Hans Polzer, MD and Sebastian F. Baumbach, MD, are two academic orthopedic ankle surgeons currently working at the Department of General, Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital, LMU Munich.Compared to other joints the specialization in the field of foot and ankle surgery was delayed. Nevertheless, during the last 2 or 3 decades, more and more research regarding the ankle is advancing. On one hand today, we observe an exponential growth in studies and knowledge, while on the other hand work is being increasingly condensed. Therefore, it becomes challenging to keep track of new developments and publications in the field of ankle surgery. In order stay up to date, we decided to start a podcast on this topic. We designed a search strategy for Medline, which will identify the relevant articles in the top journals every month. Based on these, we will pick 3-4 studies, which will be presented and discussed in each podcast.
