Podcaster Q&A

Tell us about yourself – what is your background?

At the age of 35, I received a shocking ADHD and autism diagnosis, leaving me feeling lost, confused, and angry. Having spent a lifetime trying to fit in, I (a husband and father of three) realized he never truly belonged anywhere long-term. After experiencing a severe decline in my mental health, I decided to take action. I picked myself up and began a journey toward understanding and education to better navigate this new chapter of my life.

Why did you get into podcasting?

In today's digital age, many people turn to podcasts for information and support, and I was no different. However, he struggled to find a podcast that truly resonated with his experiences as a late-diagnosed neurodiverse adult. This frustration fueled his determination to create something of his own. What began as an educational podcast idea soon blossomed into a thriving community and safe space for others.

How did the idea for the show come about?

Realizing there was a severe lack of representation of Men in the Mental Health space and not being able to find content that was specifically for Parents and their Mental Health, I thought I may as well be the one to start it.

What do you hope listeners take from the show?

If anyone who listens to my show come away from listening feeling seen, heard, validated or a little less alone in the world then my job is done.

What's been the biggest challenge for you?

Juggling work, family and podcasting while navigating my own Mental Health Journey and learning more about myself and my ADHD/Autism every day.

How can your listeners support your show?

Subscribe, Review, Share, Comment, Interact. Literally anything to get my podcast in the ears of new listeners who may just need to listen to mine or my guests journeys and find comfort in a community of people who have lived experience in Mental Health.
