We join Erica and Jules as Erica is recovering from yet another upper respiratory infection that spurred entertaining fever dream purchases. Chat turns to the challenges of dining out when living gluten free -- find out the easiest restaurants to find safe foods from the experts! Jules and Erica also share about being influencers and what happens when a product doesn't have enough R&D and is launched too soon ... as in the sad case of Katz gluten-free toaster pastries that don't work well in a toaster, and barely can be considered a pastry. In the meantime, Jules shares her favorite homemade GF toaster pastry aka "pop tart" recipe. In better product reviews, Hu Chocolate Cover Hunks score big.

Something on your mind? Erica & Jules would love to hear from you!

Something on your mind? Erica & Jules would love to hear from you!

In this episode, Jules and Erica kvetch about how the 4th of July is one of the worst holidays to celebrate (thanks fireworks and cat PTSD), but the gluten-free recipes are American as apple pie.
Erica returns home from elk watching in Estes Park, Colorado. She speculates that it might be a nice place to vacation, but not the most gluten and dairy-free friendly.
Also, Erica explains why cat yoga is more sanitary than other forms of animal yoga. Namaste.

Something on your mind? Erica & Jules would love to hear from you!

In this episode, Jules shares highlights (food lowlights?) of her recent roadtrip to the North Carolina Highland Games, where she discovered the gastronomical disappointments of a gluten-free road trip with no advanced planning. Jules "everything in moderation" Shepard steps out of her comfort zone to try fast food, and then holds Subway accountable for an up-charge on their gluten-free salads (aka "no bun bowls"). Erica also gets fired up about bed and breakfast owners not accommodating gluten-free guests with reasonable substitutions.
Jules and Erica pivot to the positive to give details about how to utilize the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), access the college disability office and dining services, and otherwise be prepared for going to college when you're gluten-free.
You Had Me At Eat Podcast will resume with season 2 in late August 2023.
