As we shake off the quiet of our holiday respite, Debbie and I unfurl the intricate tapestry of language in our heartfelt exchange. We've all grappled with those moments where words escaped us or, worse, where they've flown out unbidden, shaping reality in their wake. Our conversation threads through the spectrum of language's impact—from the biblical to the everyday—highlighting the undeniable power that words have in molding our lives and the connections we hold dear. Through laughter and earnest reflection, we peel back the layers of family life, puncturing the facade of perfection to celebrate the genuine, albeit messy, growth that stems from heartfelt communication.
Together, we weave a narrative that underscores the majesty of gratitude and the fortitude of encouragement, sharing tales steeped in the simple yet profound gestures that fortify bonds and soothe the soul. We recount the moments where a truck's early morning rumble or the quiet understanding between friends became the cornerstone of a renewed perspective, the kind of stories that illustrate how the echoes of our language can resonate with healing and comfort. And as each chapter unfolds, we invite you to join us in harnessing the art of encouraging words, reminding ourselves that amid life's solitary battles, the right words can be a lighthouse guiding us back to shared shores.

What transforms ordinary believers into extraordinary reflections of God's character? The answer lies in cultivating the fruit of the Spirit—divine characteristics that develop naturally as we walk with Christ.
Join Debbie and Greg Gold as they launch a three-part series exploring these spiritual fruits that reflect God's character working through us. In this first installment, they dive deep into the first three fruits: love, joy, and peace. Beyond mere positive emotions, these spiritual qualities empower believers to transcend natural limitations—loving those who are difficult to love, maintaining joy during hardship, and experiencing peace amidst uncertainty.
Debbie shares a powerful personal testimony about how deepening her relationship with Jesus has transformed her spirit in ways that others notice. This isn't about religious performance but authentic heart change that comes through consistent spiritual practices. Greg adds valuable insights about trusting God while actively pursuing opportunities, demonstrating how peace and action work hand-in-hand.
Whether you're new to faith or looking to deepen your spiritual walk, this episode provides practical wisdom for growing these divine characteristics in your daily life. The hosts offer encouraging takeaways and a Bible reading recommendation that will help you understand how walking in the Spirit prevents fulfilling the desires of the flesh.
Ready to experience supernatural transformation? Listen now and discover how the fruit of the Spirit can radically change your response to life's challenges. Remember, this journey isn't meant to be walked alone—Jesus is always with you, and through this podcast community, you are not alone either.

You Are Not Alone With Debbie & Greg Gold - God Doesn't Give Us More Than We Can Handle, But Sometimes It Feels Like It

After a much-needed hiatus brought on by unexpected hardships, we've returned to share how life's curveballs have strengthened our faith and perspective. The past months brought a series of challenges—my youngest son's truck accident, Greg in a car crash a month later, and the loss of a dear friend—that tested our resilience but ultimately deepened our relationship with God.
When examining the crash site weeks after my son's accident, we discovered something remarkable: a cross pattern etched into the tree trunk exactly where the vehicle had impacted. This powerful symbol, visible in the photo we've shared on our website, served as a striking reminder of divine protection, especially given the severity of the crash and the miracle that no one was injured. These moments of divine intervention remind us that even in our darkest times, God's presence never wavers.
Romans 5:3-5 tells us that "suffering produces perseverance, character and hope"—a truth we've experienced firsthand. We've learned that abandoning victim mentality is crucial for spiritual growth. Instead of asking "why me?" we now ask "what can I learn from this?" This shift transforms obstacles into opportunities, helping us build resilience and deepen our faith. Through our church community, Bible study groups, and strengthened prayer life, we've found the support systems essential for navigating difficult seasons.
We're excited to announce that Debbie has completed her first Bible study guide, "Crossing Over," designed for Christians seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Next week, we'll dive deeper into what a personal relationship with Jesus looks like and how it transforms lives. Visit our website at debbieandgreggold.com to see the miraculous cross in the tree and download Debbie's new Bible study. Join us as we continue exploring how faith sustains us through life's unexpected journeys.
