YES MUJER BUILD IT

Happy First Anniversary to the Yes Mujer, Build it! Podcast

Today, as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Yes Mujer, Build It Podcast! Wow- what a journey it has been. We have learned so much!
Thank you to each of you for your continued love and support. Thank you helping us reach all the listeners we have and thank you for being open to all the tools I share here on the podcast!

In this week’s episode, I want to share a few insights and lessons learned during my podcast journey. If you are considering starting your own Podcast, this is an episode you get to listen to!!!
I spent some time evaluating all the highs and lows of podcasting this past year. Here are some of the gems I share on this Podcast.

Podcasting is A LOT MORE WORK than I envisioned. It takes time to learn a new skill, commit to building an audience with marketing, and most importantly, commit to following through consistently with a weekly podcast.

At different points of the journey this year - there have been high highs and low lows. Through it all, I have allowed myself to be guided by my 18 years of coaching. I honor all of the challenges. I honor the not-so-fun planning, scheduling, and tech issues. I also honor the DISCIPLINE it has taken to keep going.

After 1 year, here are my biggest lessons:

Lesson 1- Podcasting can be hard work. It was more work than I had intentionally thought.

Lesson 2- Podcasting requires an equal amount of time in marketing as in podcasting. Yes- Marketing!

Lesson 3- Podcasting has strengthened my consistency muscle.

Lesson 4- Podcasting has reminded me - I have A LOT to SAY.

And I’m just getting started.

Thank you, thank you, thank to all my listeners, guests and support team who make this Podcast happen every week !

As a gratitude gift, we're thrilled to announce a Special Giveaway to our Listeners!.

58. Anticipation Energy

Do you struggle with procrastination or avoidance?

Most people get into procrastination at some point.

Have you ever heard of Anticipation Energy or Stimulus Management?

In this week's episode, I share one of my favorite brain hack tools: Anticipation Energy.

Anticipation Energy is a Stimulus Tool you can use to overcome procrastination. It's a tool I regularly teach my coaching clients. It's also a great ADHD tool for managing your brain.

It works by increasing the stimulus in your brain for a particular task by attaching that task to something positive you are anticipating.

It starts with finding the right amount of stimulus that works for you. Examples of regular stimuli would be playing music in the background to help you study or to work by standing up to finish writing certain emails.

Anticipation Energy stimulus works by thinking of something you are looking forward to, like a trip you are taking or the excitement a child feels waiting for Santa Claus to deliver presents. The Anticipation of this event creates dopamine and adrenaline in our system. We then use that adrenaline to get the thing done we are avoiding.

It's a powerful tool that works really well in situations where the task you have to complete does not have enough stimuli.

Anticipation Energy helps you create the stimulus or the dopamine you need to follow through by connecting something you are excited about with something you need to get done.

I can't wait for you to give this tool a try!!

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • What is Anticipation Energy
  • What is Stimulus Management
  • How to use the tool to improve your follow-through.
  • Finding the right amount of stimulus that works for you.
  • Ways to have moments of dopamine throughout the day.
  • How to trick your brain into getting things done
