Episode 120- As Women Turn to the Moon
06/05/22 • 19 min
The ancients claimed that all substance of life is created from the dust of Mother Moon, our cosmic source. The moon’s perpetual cycle determines our rhythms, desires, vibrations and possibilities on the earth. Its luminous and visibly shifting shape keeps our heads craning upwards to the magical skies and heavens. The moon significantly influences a woman’s biorhythms and her body, mind, and spirit are intricately connected to her cycles.
Science is now beginning to scratch the surface of women’s health and reproductive relationship to the elemental energies of nature. In a recently published article in Molecular Biology, scientists Gabriela Andreatta and Kristin Tessmar-Raible report on their research on molecular mechanisms of lunar controlled rhythms. “Why is cellular respiration in which cells pulse between empty and full, the foundation of life? It is plausible that ...the first life forms adapted to the different rhythms controlled by the moon.”
Less than a century ago, the names given to the moon told the whole story of a people’s rhythmic way of life. Living in accord with the lunar calendar maintained the ancestral memory of the crones. This way of being, of honoring the cyclical, circular movement of time kept their vibrant memory alive. People had an intimate relationship with nature and the earth as they moved from day to day in rhythm with the lunar wheel.

Episode 119 ~ Pause and Pause Again~
In my 40 years of teaching holistic healing ways, I have found taking a pause on a daily basis has helped me to stay present with my inner being. In so doing I'm continually able to navigate my way through the mired twists of work, challenges, triumphs, downfalls, successes and failures. The first cosmic law for humanity is ahimsa, practicing non-harm. Ahimsa informs that to fulfill our destiny as a conscious being we must strengthen our capacity to grow awarenessIn this meditative practice we do not search for or expect immediate answers to a dilemma.
This practice simply helps us to create spaciousness within. After practicing for a while, you find that the right questions will arise and that your mental state is poised with more clarity. The turbulence of thoughts, emotions, guilt, fear, and so on becomes stilled. Indeed, just sitting in nature by a steam of running water, or in a farrowed sunlight field, or in any serene setting can help you to take pause, breath, and simply be.
Let us enjoin spirit and begin the journey into the Ahimsa Pause.

Episode 121 We can Heal
We are divided not because of our differences but because we do not support or allow each other the powerful diversity that manifests within each one of us. Our gender and biological sex is a potent example of this view. Gender differences is but one minute factor in the quintillion variety of nature’s majestic realm mirrored within the human person. To heal and reclaim wholeness, it is critical that we embrace the reality of Shiva-Shakti - and note the brilliant multiplicity of energy which courses within and through each and every human person. This primeval force goes way beyond gender binary to the infinite.
