Whole Team Eats Podcast

Nick’s path into training wasn’t always clear and there were several tough times along the way. Going all in on training required using all the money he had to buy a plane ticket and several weeks of sleeping in the gym that he was training at. Nick’s persistence and dedication to his craft combined with a great mentor in his partner Rube Oliver allowed him to develop into the trainer he is today. On the show, we discuss how Nick’s passion for training started when he was an athlete training in the gym that he currently trains at. We dive into what it has been like to be a part of an expanding training business even if that meant learning how to remodel buildings to cuts costs.

House of Athlete: Troy Jones

Troy’s passion for training started from his roots coming from a family of educators. Constantly trying to understand the “why” behind things and challenging the status quo is what allowed Troy to stand out within the training industry. His detailed and structured approach to training created a natural audience who were eager to learn and better understand his training principles. On the show, we discuss Troy’s love to inspire people. Growing up, Troy witnessed several athletes fall through the cracks without proper training and made it his mission to help change that. His training business started on a football field with a makeshift weightlifting belt for resisted speed training. Out of his first 50 athletes, 30 went pro in some capacity. Troy also describes his 10- year rule and how he still does a minimum of one hour of research per day.
