What Got You There with Sean DeLaney

Jason Khalipa's actions and accomplishments speak for themselves: devoted father, world champion, and global businessman. After years of rigorous training, Jason earned the title of Fittest Man on Earth and finished first in the 2008 CrossFit Games. His hard work and insatiable drive paid off, and his company, NCFIT, grew to success. Jason thought he had overcome insurmountable obstacles throughout his career, but nothing prepared him for the moment when his daughter, Ava, was diagnosed with leukemia. Tasked with facing what no parent should have to confront, he had two choices: succumb to overwhelming anger, or jump headfirst into the fight. He chose the latter.

In his first book, As Many Reps As Possible (AMRAP), Jason reveals the invaluable principles that helped him and his wife dedicate every minute of their lives to Ava's battle. The backbone of Jason's success is a simple and accessible process that, with dedication, will help you take control of life, harness your true potential, and triumph in every way. Borrowing from the fitness idea of completing as many reps as possible of an exercise in a given time period, Jason developed The AMRAP Mentality, a proven system that will help you discover your why, focus on what you can control, work hard, and ultimately blow past your goals. With clear insight, personal anecdotes, and directed reader exercises, this book will help you get where you're going, wherever that may be. Be prepared to dream big, dig in your heels, roll up your sleeves, and get to work.

#114 Greg McKeown- Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less

For 18 years Greg has been fascinated with the question, "What holds people, teams and organizations back from breaking through to the next level?" The answer, to his great surprise, is success.

He teaches a way of thinking he calls Essentialism which enables people to figure out what is really essential, to eliminate everything else, and to make execution of what really matters as effortless as possible. The disciplined pursuit of less allows people to channel their time, energy and effort toward making the highest possible contribution to what really matters.

The way of the Essentialist means living by design, not by default. Get ready to rethink how you approach your life after this episode!

#116 Dan Gable- Legendary Wrestler & Coach

When you think of the greatest athletes and coaches of all time names like Jordan, Gretzky, Belichick and Lombardi come to mind. But a name not as well known but should be is Dan Gable. Dan Gable is often considered the great amateur wrestler in American history. During his prep and college careers, Gable compiled an unbelievable record of 182-1. He was undefeated in 64 prep matches, and was 118-1 at Iowa State. His only defeat came in the NCAA finals his senior year. Gable was a three-time all-American and three-time Big Eight champion.

Dan Gable's career accomplishments are etched in wrestling lore, from his 1972 unscored-on Olympic gold-medal performance on the mat to his record-setting 15 NCAA titles as wrestling coach (a mark unequaled in wrestling history). He became one of the few dominant athletes in a sport who was equally dominant as a coach, producing 152 All-Americans and 45 NCAA champions at the University of Iowa. He also coached the 1980, 1984, and 2000 U.S. Olympic wrestling squads.

In 1996, Gable was named one of the 100 Golden Olympians, an honor bestowed to the top 100 U.S. Olympians of all time. Some of his most recent accolades include being named the top wrestler of the 20th century by Gannett News Service, listed as one of the top coaches in the 20th century by ESPN, and heralded as Sports Figure of the Century in Iowa by Sports Illustrated. During the 2012 Olympics, Gable was inducted into the FILA Hall of Fame Legends of the Sport, making him only the third person in the world to receive this honor.
