What Else Is Going On? With Taria S. Faison

Zoom goes translatic and lands in the apartment of the one and only @dianaespir and WHAT an amazing flight! We take off talking jade rollers and the things I do to keep it cold (think freezer and cold chicken), her espirational podcast rebrand and the interview that was the catalyst (Hi Sasha!) her upcoming move (when is she coming back to LA) and whether a conversation that others may see as heavy but its really not skinny nor fat, is due to take place. Then we put it in reverse and dip into her performer past. We talk about her being a child prodigy at 2, her vocal career (she has an amazing voice...I heard it), how her talent became her torture and what made her silence her singing and delve into journalism. We get into how you are viewed in America when you have an amazing talent versus being considered an outcast where you were born, and what led her to the red carpet and being able to interview celebrities in a way that few can! Diana then slides into her own DM's and asks me to explain the DM I sent her telling her I loved her but don't agree with her on things (we hashed it out), we talk about the episode of her podcast that made we feel a type of way and the reason behind it and we debate/discuss cancel culture.

And while on the subject of cancel culture, we talk a former Bravoleb that is more bump than pump these days and how the actions of that person led Diana down a path of self reflection that allowed her to acknowledge subconscious behaviors...and change them.
Diana is a sharp, funny, open, intelligent, woman and I am excited to know her! She was willing to let down her barriers and be vulnerable with me AND give me one of the best beauty recommendations I have ever gotten (it worked in two days!) Podcasting is the bridge that brought Diana and I together and this London Bridge will never fall down!

Instagram's @ohnobravo Zooms into my kitchen to discuss the top housewife story of the week, Monique and Candiace. We go deep and talk about all of the elements that contributed to what has become one of the hottest debated housewives incidents in housewives history. We discuss the RHOP Housewives teams and their captains and who we are batting for, the slow motion stills we have watched over and over again (that was Gizelle's hand...right), the flicking of Candiaces hair being the first point of contact, and the speed in which Monique raced around the barn to continue the fight. We also get into both Chris' phone calls they receive from their wives with very different versions told, how each of the Chris' handled it noticeably differently (one misses the friendship and is embarrassed and the other makes tea and suggests a hospital visit) and the shock waves that rippled through the group. We then head South for Atlanta and somehow end up in the Arizonas with Gizelle, her girls and Daddy Graves where we get a belly full of awkward desserts and an earful of Daddy Graves' true feelings when his MIC goes hot.
We touch on the weight that has been put on Black franchises to adhere to a standard that their white counterparts don't have to and the burdens that come with that. And I share a DM from @shopwithmiaj that speaks to the Candiace v Monique situation via her own personal experience.
This episode has it all because just like Ariana and comedy, we take Bravo VERY seriously!

Then we bust a U-ey and head back south to Maryland and more specifically Potomac. I ask Kendrick what his thoughts were as a black man watching the fight, we discuss if the conversation at Karens house should have taken place for all of the world to see, how Karen tries to play both sides (she had security too) and we end by me making a plea for him to watch Love and Marriage Huntsville on OWN Tv.
