Episode 201 Dealing With Food Pushers
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
12/15/20 • 20 min
Is there someone in your life who is always pushing food on you?
Even when you aren’t hungry?
Someone who doesn’t take no for an answer?
Most of us have dealt with friends or family who do this at some point in time.
We’ve heard those words:
But I made it just for you!
Everyone is having some.
You’re no fun!
Is that all you’re having?
Most of us have felt the anger, the embarrassment, and the guilt and those feelings are so uncomfortable, sometimes we think it’s easier to just go ahead and eat.
Even if you’re not hungry.
I’ve been there and I’ll bet you have also.
You just want to crawl into a hole rather than have all the attention on you and what you are or aren’t eating, right?
This coaching session will help you look at why some people push others to eat food they don’t want or need and have a new perspective about it.
From there, we will talk about how to recognize this challenge and come up with a game plan to deal with the next food pusher you meet.
You are always in charge of what, when and how much you eat.
Now let’s understand why others might push you to eat more than you need and figure out how to honor yourself without having a big issue with them.
You can absolutely do this!

Episode 200 – How Eating Fast Messes Up Your Weight Loss Efforts
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
12/08/20 • 21 min
Are you a fast eater?
Do you practically inhale your food?
And regularly finish before everyone else?
Well, we need to talk. This habit is bound to give you results you don’t really want.
Results like extra weight.
Less satisfaction with your food.
And being constantly frustrated being on a merry-go-round you can’t seem to get off.
What if you could enjoy your food more AND get to your natural weight?
Of course you’d love it, right?
The answer for you may be changing your eating style.
In this case, the speed at which you are eating most of the time.
You may know where your speed-eating habit came from.
Maybe you watched your family eat quickly.
Maybe there wasn’t always enough food, and you had to speed up to get your share.
Or maybe you’ve developed a scarcity way of thinking. Even though you have enough now, you still inexplicably feel that fear of ‘not enough’.
Time to slow down, my dear.
Time to taste your food, get satisfaction from your food, and enjoy mealtime as a chance to care for yourself, to visit with others perhaps, and to get great pleasure from your food.
The way to do this is to slow down your eating.
In this coaching session, I will talk about what happens when you always eat fast, why you might do it, AND how to slow down.
Are you with me?

Episode 222: One of the Biggest Reasons You Aren’t Losing Weight
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
05/11/21 • 18 min
Show Notes –
If you are struggling with weight loss, I would bet that it’s probably due to one of these three reasons:
- You think there is a magical diet out there that will be fast, easy and permanent. And you just haven’t found it yet. So you are on a perpetual search.
- You are convinced that when you find this magical diet, you will be able to get immediate results. You want this to be true, so you decide to believe this thought. And anything less than immediate results is not acceptable to you.
- You try the magical diet, and you fall down. You fail. And then what? You give up. You had a huge expectation of immediate success and when you ran into your first roadblock, you just gave up.
Is this you? Are you guilty of these thoughts and expectations?
If so, this episode is for you.
Join me and listen as we talk about why you shouldn’t expect immediate results and how to change that habit.
Let’s break this unhelpful pattern that has you working against yourself to get what you want most: losing your extra weight AND losing the whole struggle.
I can help.

Episode 199: What Happens After Weight Loss?
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
12/01/20 • 19 min
If you are still struggling with your weight and your eating, I’ll bet you have a vision about what it will be like when you get ‘there’.
When you get that number on the scale.
Or that size jeans.
Or maybe it’s just the lack of struggle that you wish for.
And I’ll bet that your vision of life ‘after’ weight loss involves some rainbows, beautiful kittens and unicorns, right?
After all, if losing the extra weight is your goal for SO many years, and you finally get there, life should be pretty sweet.
Here’s the reality:
Yes, it’s wonderful to achieve your goal.
It’s amazing to feel proud of changing your thinking to change your eating and actually reach your goal.
But there is another change that has to happen.
And that is your identity.
Your self-image.
It takes work to let your self-image catch up with the changes in your body.
In order to feel comfortable in who you are, the inside and the outside have to match.
And often, this doesn’t happen right away.
After weight loss, I don’t want you to slip-slide your way back to an old familiar problem. I want you to be moving ahead and find a new project to work on.
Nothing to do with weight and eating.
Should you still be learning and growing as a person, after you’ve reached your weight loss goals? Absolutely.
And that’s what we will talk about today.

Episode 204: Want Weight Loss? Give Yourself a Dose of Belief!
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
01/05/21 • 20 min
I know, I know.
You want to lose weight and you want the formula.
Just tell me what to eat, right?
Just give me that magical list of the good foods and the bad foods and I’ll do my best.
If you have thought these things before, you know that they are not enough.
Because as soon as you begin your weight loss journey, you will bump into something hard.
Something new.
And you will fall down and experience a ‘fail’.
If you don’t have a firm belief that you can do this, no matter what, then you won’t get back up again.
At least not for a while.
Without the belief that you can do this even when it’s challenging, you will struggle all the way.
And it’s likely that you won’t get too far.
But, you ask me, how can I believe in myself if I’ve never done this before?
I have proof over and over again that I can’t do this?
How can I believe that I can?
I hear you.
I understand.
And creating that belief is exactly what I am going to help you with today.
We are working together to look at your old habits and dump the ones that are not working and add in some that will work.
That means that before you even start, you need to look at your belief in yourself.
Your belief in your ability to change.
No matter how many times you’ve tried and failed in the past.
This is KEY to changing for good.
And that is what we will work on together in this coaching session.
See you inside!

Episode 205: How to Accept Failure Gracefully and Restart Your Weight Loss Journey Without the Drama
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
01/12/21 • 19 min
I want you to think back to the last time you set a goal and you failed.
No, I’m not trying to make you feel bad about how you are doing with your eating and your weight.
I want to help you see exactly what keeps you stuck.
Here’s the big point of this coaching session:
When you have a habit, even if you hate the habit, it’s always easier to do it than to do something new.
When you fail at doing a new thing, this is absolutely part of the process of change.
If you think you can escape without failing and be the exception.... I’m sorry my dear. But you are kidding yourself.
Okay, so this is probably not what you want to hear.
I get it.
But now that you’ve heard the fact about failure as a requirement for change, now we can move onto making those hard things easier.
In this coaching session, you and I are going to look at why you fail at doing what you want most.
And how the way you look at it will either keep setting you back at the starting line, or help you get up, learn, brush yourself off, and move toward the new version of you.
So, let’s look at the steps you’ll need to take to fail forward.
Yes, to fail and actually move ahead at the same time.
Without regrets.
Without hating yourself.
And without feeling bad. Promise.
Are you ready?

Episode 206: It’s Okay to Feel Low Right Now AND Not Overeat
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
01/19/21 • 18 min
What do you do when you wake up and feel low?
Or anxious?
Or worried about things?
If you’ve been listening to me for a while, and you know how your mind works, you might be tempted to think: what can I think to feel better?
You might struggle to think positively so that you don’t overeat.
If you’re an emotional eater, you know how strong this habit can be.
But what if you could have a down day, or a ‘blah’ day, like I sometimes do, and don’t feel compelled to fix it?
You could just accept that ups and downs and in-betweens are all just part of the whole picture of you.
And when you are feeling blah, there is no need to fix anything.
When you don’t like how you feel, you might assume that you need to do something to feel better.
And, do it quickly!
But it’s when you think you ‘shouldn’t’ feel low that you then add to the original low feeling. You might be resisting feeling all the natural emotions, and this leads you to want to run to the escape hatch...quickly!
What’s one of the fastest ways away from a painful emotion?
Food.
Whether you are hungry or not.
So, join me today as we explore what you might do with challenging emotions. It’s a skill worth learning.

Episode 208: Does Thin Equal Happy?
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
02/02/21 • 19 min
Pop quiz:
How often have you said these things to yourself?
When I weigh ___, then I’ll be happy.
When I lose ___ pounds, then my relationship will be better.
When my weight gets to this lower point, then I can work on other things.
If you recognize these thoughts, you are in for a challenge today.
You are in a common habit of thinking that your happiness hinges on your weight.
I know we live in a culture where thin is worshipped.
Although I must say that it’s getting better.
And even if you don’t worship thin, you still want to lose weight so you can be a natural eater and lose the drama around food and your weight.
All this is good. But what isn’t so good is you connecting happiness with a number. Because if you believe you can’t be happy until you achieve the magic number, then you are doomed.
It’s like you are telling yourself that you must be miserable until someday in the future when you get to that number.
Think about how that makes you feel.
Awful in the present, right?
And does feeling awful about yourself right now help you lose weight?
Let me think?
No.
It does not.
I have never worked with a woman who successfully learned how to be a natural eater who hated herself all along the journey.
So I hope you open your mind today to the idea that you do not have to hate where you are to change where you are.
You can be more accepting of where you are and yes, still get to your goal. And I can promise that the journey will feel a whole lot better.

Episode 294: 5 Ways To Not Regain The Weight You’ve Lost
Weight Loss Made Real: How real women lose weight, stop overeating, and find authentic happiness.
11/09/22 • 19 min
Out in the real world, women who lose weight from dieting will regain their lost weight 96% of the time.
This can be a pretty depressing statistic and it might feel demotivating to think about. But you don’t have to be in that 96%. Today we’re going to talk about what could be going wrong that might cause you to regain the weight you’ve lost. And 5 ways to not regain that lost weight.
In my way of thinking about weight loss and maintenance, there are 5 things you can do to lose weight and not gain it back. You want that weight to be gone, out of your life and off your body. And this is possible. You can learn to be the exception.
And, as we go through these 5 things you can do to prevent regaining any lost weight, I know that you might be thinking that you can’t lose the weight, let alone maintain it.
No worries. For some of us, we can’t seem to get to first based with weight loss. Take some time to listen to a few of my early episodes about how to start losing weight. Or get my free gift to help you stop overeating. Then link is below.
For today, I hope you take one of these strategies to become one of the minority weight loss success stories and take a few minutes to write down how you will practice it.
Your first step could easily be to see which one of these mistakes you frequently make.
- Do you focus on weight loss from the outside in?
- Do you put all the emphasis on your body to the exclusion of your mind?
- Maybe you have been thinking that extreme willpower is the answer?
- Or you’ve been approaching weight loss via. desperation and self-hatred?
- And finally, if you’ve been telling yourself that you really want to achieve a true change of identity into a natural eater but secretly you think that you are the exception, then your beliefs are a good starting point for you.
Join me. I want you to be able to lose weight for good, and then keep it off, also for good. Let’s defy all the odds!
