#494: What If Your Diagnosis Doesn’t Define You?
12/26/24 • 42 min
If you go to a doctor with a mental health concern, you’re almost certain to be given a “diagnosis” and likely a prescription to match. It’s easy to start to view yourself as your diagnosis rather than someone suffering from symptoms - and those are two very different things. On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared offers a different way to look at your “diagnosis”. What if the very thing your doctor has told you is a “disorder” is actually your superpower. This is not to minimize symptoms that may be causing disruption in your life, but rather suggests that we can embrace differences in the way our brains work while working to bring the body back into balance naturally. To highlight this, Jared shares the unique strengths of an ADHD type brain through his personal experiences, as well as his wife Jen's transformative journey from struggling with multiple mental health challenges to embracing her true self. This is a powerful message about defining yourself beyond any diagnosis.
