Hi again, everybody, welcome back to the BnB, where we'll always leave the light on for the late arrivals, but the doors will be locked. Because...crime, y'all.
This week we have stories of two women who loved their husbands, and were forced to experience their murders.
Bailey will enrage you with the absolutely infuriating murder of Chad Oulson, who was murdered at the movies by an ex-police captain who claimed he was in fear for his life. Why would he feel scared for his life? Uhhh, because Chad threw some popcorn at him after being hassled multiple times. When you hear the sequence of events, entirely instigated by the ex-captain, it is really outrageous that this case turned out the way it did.
Beth then has to try to recover us from the first story, but this one is rough, too. Debra Puglisi Sharp and her husband Nino Puglisi were just living their best lives and looking forward to their 25th wedding anniversary, when a random stranger wandered in off the street and murdered Nino and took Debra captive. But there is even more to this story than the senselessness of the crimes--it's about how Debra ultimately kept her wits, outsmarted her captor, and got herself rescued.
If you would like to visit the Oulson Family Foundation, founded by Chad's wife Nicole after his death with the goal to help children affected by gun violence, you can find it at www.oulsonfamilyfoundation.com
Also, please don't forget to check out Torture Podcast, whose trailer you heard at the beginning of the episode. Kevin and Dan share fascinating information about old-timey and modern-timey tortures, and they're smart and fun to listen to. Give it a chance!
We're glad you're here for this episode, because these victims did not deserve any of what happened to them. So let's get comfortable and get into this week's stories.
Thank you for joining us!

BONUS EPISODE 41.5: Just One B: Justin Glen Gaines
It's bonus week again, ya'll, and Bailey has another Atlanta mysterious disappearance for us today, in BONUS Episode 41.5. She brings us the strange story of Justin Glen Gaines, a college freshman who did what every college freshman has done--he went out to a nightclub, and was looking for a ride home.
Somewhere between leaving the club in Duluth GA and his home in Snellville, less than 20 miles away, he disappeared, never to be seen again. There are some pretty tricky scenarios that have come to light over the years, but still no answers to what happened to Justin. Someone knows, and we hope anyone who knows something will contact the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office at 770-513-5100.
Thank you for joining us mid-week in the Bonus BnB, where there are always snacks and wine, and a comfy place to crash.
See you Friday, Crime Family!

Episode 43: Susan Brockert and Natalie Queiroz
Whoa, get ready for a wild episode 43, Crime Family. This week we flipped our traditional roles and Beth took the heavy story; Bailey brought up the mood with a really maddening and then amazing upper story.
But first things first. Susan Brockert spent 15 years working her tail off at a job she loved. She succeeded in every respect, and her company decided to show their appreciation and reward her with the trip of a lifetime to celebrate her achievements. Of course, she naturally wanted to take her boyfriend of two years.
That decision led to the end of everything for Susan in the most horrific and brutal attack by the man who supposedly loved her.
See why we needed Bailey after that??
So, next is the story of Natalie Queiroz, who was 8 months pregnant and just trying to meet her loving baby daddy for lunch. As she walked to the cafe, she was targeted in a stabbing attack on a public street, surrounded by dozens of people. But Natalie was lucky enough to survive and go on to bring goodness and light into the world, despite the horrific reality that led to her nearly dying in the street.
This week will make you angry and confused, and certainly wondering how people manage to justify their sociopathic actions in their own minds.
Please remember to take care of yourself and don't forget to keep your eyes open for the warning signs of domestic violence. If you're not sure where to go for help, in the US, you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at +1 800-799-7233 or text START to 88788, or in an emergency, call 911.
In the UK, you can go to the government website for domestic violence assistance, at this link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/domestic-abuse-how-to-get-help or in an emergency, call 999.
After you finish this episode, you ought to go check out and subscribe to our friends Paige and Sam at M3: Murder, Mystery, and Mayhem. They're squirrely in an endearing way, but once you get past the opening squirrels, you have great research and insightful storytelling to look forward to! They can be found anywhere you're listening to us!
Thank you for joining us today, this episode could be heavy enough to justify a whiskey drink! And as always, hang around, the bloopers might have you craving bonbons or Twinkies (yuck, but to each their own!)!
