Trail Running Women

Sarah had a really scary park encounter early July 2020. We planned to chat about her story and get into the incident, when I realized we were chatting the day before she set out for a self supported 100mile! The chat went from her story, to preparing for this challenge and how she feels going into her 100miles having just had a terrifying experience.

E101 Kamilah: More than a runner

Kamilah goes way beyond sharing her story. Her wisdom in both life and running really came through in this episode and there is so much to learn from her. As an elite track athlete she talks about using trail running as a place to run for the love of it, and not for the competition. We talk about the Black Lives Matter Movement and how we can all do our part to create a more diverse running community.

BONUS Replay E14 Lori: A kind hearted badass

Some of these old episodes are too good to let go - so I'm replaying them for our new listeners. Randomly.

Lori Herron was born to run long distances. The now 59 year old started running at 38, and jumped in with both feet tackling a 64.5km race as her first event. In the last 20 years Lori has raced the Boston Marathon, completed 12 x 100mile races, a 200mile race, and is signed up for a 5 day stage race next year. She has great advice for anyone looking to take up running or tackle a new distance. Lori’s compassion for others and appreciation for trail running will undoubtedly leave you with a more positive outlook.
