Episode 1 TVF – Introducing The Visibility Factor
I am so excited to bring you the very first episode of The Visibility Factor Podcast! In today’s episode, I wanted to share more info with you on what you can expect on the podcast, my journey with visibility, a little bit about my career and also some of my top lessons learned. Let’s get started!
My visibility journey has been a bit of a roller coaster. I share some of my experience at Kraft Heinz and how that impacted my leadership and business knowledge. I had my challenges, but learned from those situations. I had to learn how to be visible in my own authentic way. That visibility journey has helped me in so many ways as a coach now for my clients.
This podcast has been a dream for about 6 years and now it is happening! I have guested on many wonderful shows, but I always wanted to do my own. I have learned as a coach that every conversation is about building trust with another person. I want to do that same thing here. Connecting with you the listener and helping you learn about your own leadership and visibility.
Why have a podcast?
I have great conversations with leaders, coaches and entrepreneurs each day. I hear about their business challenges, their opportunities and we celebrate their wins. There are so many great people doing great things.I thought it would be great to share some of these great conversations with you. I have learned so many great things from mentors, managers and coaches. I wanted to create episodes that would help you learn too.
I will have solo episodes on various topics related to leadership, authenticity, mindset, confidence, visibility, entrepreneurship, impostor syndrome, coaching and many other topics. I look forward to hearing from you and get your input on topics that you would like to hear me and my guests discuss. You can email me at [email protected] your thoughts and feedback!
There will also be special episodes where I will coach leaders and share case studies with you – will help you see how a very short time period with a coach can make a big impact.
Each episode will end with a visibility tip that you can apply to your leadership.
Think of me as a virtual coach. My pledge is to deliver value on every episode and share additional resources to help you. To me it is no different than helping my clients learn, grow and gain new perspective. Today’s tips:
- Take advantage of opportunities that are in front of you.
- Prepare and develop yourself to be ready for whatever opportunity happens.
- Think about the words that you say about yourself before you say them. How do you describe yourself, your team and your work? Do those words support the kind of leader that you want to be or not?
In episode 2 you will hear more about my four year journey to write The Visibility Factor book! Every author’s path is different, but even though mine took longer, the reader is going to benefit by having a better book to help them navigate their visibility! Tune into hear more!

141. How Are You Being Perceived?
The Visibility Factor
11/14/24 • 16 min
141. How Are You Being Perceived?
Today’s episode is about your perception and how that can impact your career opportunities. At a basic level your perception is how people in your organization view your leadership and your work. We used to say all the time that right or wrong, your perception is reality. If you are being viewed in the way that you want, then your perception equals the reality. However, if you are being viewed in a way that is very different than how you want, then you have to ask yourself the following questions: Will the current perception hold me back in my career? Do I want to be seen differently by my management? If the answer is yes to both of those questions, then you will need to do the work to shift how you show up so you can be seen in the way that you want.
In this episode:
- What do you do when you find out your perception isn’t what you thought it was?
- Are you paying attention to your personal brand?
- What happens if you don’t manage your perception?
- What can impact your perception?
- Perceptions are reality and you need to manage yours.
- You can change the perception of your personal brand.
- What inputs you need to create a new perception of your personal brand.
Resources Mentioned in the Episode:

93. Leading With Authenticity
The Visibility Factor
12/14/23 • 13 min
93. Leading With Authenticity
Today’s show is about leading with authenticity. Being authentic is a major focus in The Visibility Factor book and it is an important value for me. Authentic Leadership comes through when you are transparent about things, have high self-awareness, care about those around you and you can be yourself. It is so much easier to be yourself than to spend your time trying to be somebody else. Creating a leadership brand that is authentic to you and who you want to be requires vulnerability to be able to show up in a genuine way. It allows you to focus on your authentic self, build trust and create stronger relationships with your team and others in the organization. How do you know whether you are being authentic or not? How do you decide if someone you are talking to is authentic? We will be discussing this and more in today’s show!
In this episode:
- How is authenticity defined?
- What are the characteristics of being authentic vs inauthentic?
- What it means to be truly authentic.
- A case study of a newer leader who wasn’t being authentic with his team.
- The impacts of not being authentic.
- Practice being authentic with every interaction that you have.
- Creating your own authentic leadership brand.
- How to evaluate your own authenticity to make changes if needed.
