17. Coaching Leaders on Visibility (with Jena Kinney)

Jena Kinney is a Master Certified Insight Coach and Speaker that focuses on helping executives, managers and key decision makers accelerate the trajectory of their leadership in their organizations. Utilizing distinctions, she works with clients by helping them see what is keeping them from being the leader they want to be and helps them dial in small shifts that change everything.

Today Jena works with clients in various capacities, whether in 1:1 coaching, groups or helping teams in workshops. Before launching her coaching and consulting business, Jena worked for 20+ years in the specialty chemicals sector, with direct oversight in various senior marketing and sales roles including an international assignment in Asia for over four years. While most of her experience was in the beauty sector, she also spent several years in the pharmaceutical and home care sectors.

In this episode we discussed:

  • Jena shared what it was like to have spent part of her career overseas and why she left corporate.
  • Discussed the transition of leaving corporate and becoming a coach.
  • We talked about who she coaches, the type of challenges they face and how she coaches them from wherever they are to help them.
  • She shared the ways that The Visibility Factor book has helped her see where she was being invisible. Then we discussed what she saw in her clients that led her to recommend the book to them to help them with their visibility challenges.
  • Jena has a great program called Transformational Leadership. It helps leaders go deeper with their challenges to help them move past them and make a bigger impact in their careers. She is also launching a new program this summer to help leaders slow down and get out of the busyness of their day.
