Most likely, many of us aren't benefiting from the knowledge of our pharmacists and that's usually because we see them only as "pill dispensers". But the truth of the matter is that having a trustworthy pharmacist can be a tremendous ally and support when dealing with a disease such as Diabetes.
Today we host Dr. Nana Ama Quansah, an incredible Pharmacist, Diabetes Health Coach, aspiring functional Medicine Practitioner, and an entrepreneur. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Northern Kentucky University and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.
As the founder and CEO of NAQ Pharmacy Consulting, she has empowered focused driven women living with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes to regain control of their health through lifestyle intervention, gain confidence in their ability to lose weight ,reduce their use of prescription medications and learn what to eat without being on a restrictive diet through her DITCH Diabetes signature wellness program.
Her pharmacy consulting practice was founded with the sole purpose of providing a human touch to patient care and to provide healthcare solutions to physician offices and independent pharmacy owners by integrating wellness programs in their practices.

Have you seen the commercials for diabetic drugs where the patient says the drug “unlocks the insulin inside of me”, and then you see people dancing and having a great time?
Sadly, that's not the reality.
