John Mark Comer was born and raised in the Bay Area but has been in Portland, Oregon for many years, with his wife T and their three kids – Jude, Moses, and Sunday.
He is the founding pastor of Bridgetown Church, right in the center of the city (by Powell's Books if you've ever been to Portland). His church is built around the very simple idea of practicing the way of Jesus, together, in Portland. They believe that the way of Jesus is exactly that, a way of life.
John is also the author of six books: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, God has a Name, Garden City, Loveology, My Name is Hope, and his newest: Live No Lies.
He's currently starting a non-profit called Practicing the Way. Our aim is to create resources for discipleship and formation in local churches in post-Christian contexts. Coming in Fall 2022.

Who Is Carrying You | Jay Fantom
Today for Blessings Sunday I would like to share with you a powerful poem that has been a huge blessing, encouragement and at times rebuke for me.
The poem is called 'Footprints in the sand'. Some of you may or may not have heard or read this poem before. But it goes like this.
One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
So my question to you watching or listening to this is 'Who Is Carrying You?'
There are three people that I will identify and talk about in this video who you can choose to carry you through a difficult or challenging time.
1. You
2. Satan
3. God
Who do you want to carry you through a challenging time?
We all have a choice. I know what my choice will be. Do you?
