Beyond Behaviors Episode 4

Today we're discussing chapter four of Beyond Behaviors by Dr. Mona Delahooke, "Safety is the Starting Point." In this episode, we cover personalized attunement, the therapeutic use of self, determining a child's neuroceptive state, the types of stress we might observe in children, the need for co-regulation, and how to provide cues of relational safety. We discuss our own experiences in schools working with children who have disruptive behaviors and behavior interventions that worked for our students. We're just getting started with part two of this book, which covers solutions and how to address the challenging behaviors we see.
