In this episode Nicole and Sarah host ski mom Susie English, Director of Marketing at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Park City, Utah.

Susie is a Park City native who knows the ski industry inside and out, having started her career at Rossingnol, then SkiUtah and now at Deer Valley Ski Resort. As the Director of Marketing at Deer Valley, there is no typical day. Her days vary from helping to run a Freestyle World Cup event to responding to guest feedback.

Deer Valley is a family focused resort spanning over 2,000 acres and 5 peaks. One thing that makes Deer Valley unique is a green (easy) trail down from every peak - making the whole ski area accessible to all abilities. Deer Valley is a ski-only resort, you won’t find snowboarders here.

Our article here reviews the world class ski school with lessons for everyone from kids to adult, private and groups, special experiences such as Ski with a Champion and Fireside Dining. Deer Valley has a huge selection of lodging options from 5 Star hotels to private homes, and everything in between.

Susie shares some tips for finding deals on your visit to Deer Valley by booking packages that include lodging, lift tickets and rentals, and coming at off-peak times or later in the season.

You won’t need a rental car while staying in Park City - there is a great free public bus system and if staying at a Deer Valley property you can enjoy the complimentary Cadillac service. And don’t forget the Ikon Pass includes 7 days at Deer Valley!

The Ski Moms Podcast - Constance Beverley, CEO of Share Winter Foundation
play

12/30/21 • 31 min

Send us a text

In this episode Nicole and Sarah host Constance Beverley, the CEO of Share Winter Foundation. Share Winter is a grantmaking organization working to improve the lives, health, and fitness of youth through winter sports.

Constance explains the Share Winter Foundation business model - and how the organization works closely with carefully selected grantees to build efficient, effective, sustainable winter sports programs and pipelines to ongoing winter sports participation.

This year alone, Share Winter will fund over 45,000 youth in programs across the country, fueling the next generation of winter sports participants and enthusiasts!

Constance started skiing at age 2 with her family in Ohio. When her dad passed away suddenly, Constance’s mom was left to raise her 3 daughters on her own - and there was not money or time for skiing. Constance got creative, she found ski area coupons in the local paper - and eavesdropped on lessons because she could not afford them.

While Constance always loved skiing and snowboarding, a career in the snow sports industry was not seen as an option for a young woman growing up in Ohio. Constance shares her path from Wall Street lawyer to CEO of Share Winter.

Wild Rye is a women’s outdoor apparel brand dedicated to crafting beautiful and technical outdoor apparel for women. Wild Rye is well known for their cycling products, but they also have ski base layers and an active lifestyle collection.

We loved learning about Wild Rye and can’t wait to try their products. Like Nicole said, we’re just one outfit away from the perfect workout :)
