Many people go through life aiming at nothing and hitting it with amazing accuracy. Your chances of pursuing and achieving your dreams without losing your faith, your family, or your health go up when you have written goals and parameters for achieving those goals.

But if you are like many people, writing goals and creating a plan just seems like too much work. After years of reacting to life instead of creating it, you find yourself in a rut. Well, no more. Today my guest has a plan to help you get out of your rut.

Jerry Dugan is the CEO and Senior Consultant of BtR Impact, LLC, a consulting and training company focused on helping leaders define success on their terms so they can live fulfilled, meaningful lives with impact and not lose their faith, their families, or their health.

Since 2015, Jerry has been the host and producer of Beyond the Rut podcast, a show that shares encouraging stories and practical advice to help pull listeners out of their ruts and into lives worth living. It's not enough to get out of a rut. He wants you to live beyond the rut.

In this episode we discuss...

  • When do you know you’re ready to achieve your dreams?
  • The coolest intro you’ve ever heard.
  • Learning from his dad’s mistakes.
  • What to do if you’re stuck in a rut.
  • What is servant leadership? How does it work?
  • What does servant leadership look like in the context of servant leadership?
  • The importance of waiting for the right time to make a decision.
  • Why do we chase external things more than our connection with God?
  • What does it mean to “submit”?
  • His wife’s deal with God.

The Revolutionary Man Podcast - Why Male Role Models Are Important with Dylan Roos
play

12/12/22 • 55 min

Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next.

Think back to when you were young. Do remember who your first role model was? A role model could be someone different from someone you admire. Me, I admired sports figures. Growing up in Canada, I was a huge Montreal Canadiens fan and that era featured Guy Lafluer. Now I idolized Guy and while I wanted to be like him when hockey didn’t pan out I was left with a hollow role model because really it was all about hockey and nothing more. I didn’t know any more about him. Remember this was the 70s there were no google or social media. But what about today? Sure those things exist but how can we make a sports figure a role model and should they even be one? Well today, we are going to unpack the importance for men young and old to have male role models.

Dylan Roos is a master NLP practitioner, accredited health coach and masculinity coach. Dylan mentors young men through his flagship program "Prince to King."

Dylan has worked extensively in the men's space for 4 years now and is passionate about reshaping masculinity for the modern man.

In this episode we discuss...

  • why role models especially males are important
  • what young men are struggling with today
  • why toxic masculinity is not the focus
  • what men wish women knew
  • attributes of a role model
  • Prince-to-king work

Do you feel guilty when you say no? What about being worried about what other people think? If your answer is yes to these questions you might be a people pleaser. Each of us encounters struggles in life. There’s just no avoiding it. But what happens when you seemingly have everything you could ever want and yet still not feel fulfilled? What then? Well, depending on where you’re at mentally and emotionally it could be something you just push through or worse yet, it could push you to contemplate ending it all. Well folks, today my guest is going share his story of all most ending it all to creating a life that is filled with meaning, purpose, and power.

Some people find rock bottom. Kevin found out that rock bottom has a basement. In his mid 20's, Kevin had it all. With a beautiful girlfriend, a high-paying job, a sports car, a dream body and even with all of this perceived success Kevin found himself sitting on the edge of a bed debating suicide. Not once but several times. Years later, Kevin and his business partner founded Next Level University which features among other things a podcast that generates multi-six figures, has hundreds of thousands of downloads and is in over a hundred countries.

In this episode we discuss...

The Revolutionary Man Podcast - Re-Inventing Your Self-Worth with Bo Bissette
play

10/10/22 • 44 min

Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next.

There’s a reason why we are not achieving our potential let alone achieving our goals and desires. It has to do with self-sabotage. These hidden programs can wreak havoc for us by causing pain and discomfort. And this happens because we don’t understand how to navigate through the cycle of self-awareness. Thankfully today, my guest is an expert in guiding people through a transformational process that moves them from self-sabotage to healing deep wounds.

Bo spent the first four decades of his life punishing, mutilating, demeaning, and destroying himself. Somewhere along the line, he realized those daily practices only made things worse, and despite his wishes to not move forward, he found a way. That's when he stopped trying to bury himself and, instead, started living. Today, Bo’s work helps people transform the pain in their lives by taking them through the process of Amo Ni.

In this episode we discuss...

  • why frustration is so important
  • how to stop self-sabotage
  • why labels are limiting
  • what Amo Ni is
  • how to remove the glass ceiling

Warren Buffet is quoted as saying if you don’t find a way to make your money work while you sleep you’ll be working until you die. Let that sink in for a minute. It’s a scary thing to consider don’t you think? And as we get older, the harder our money has to work for us if we wish to live the same lifestyle as we are today. The challenge is there are so many options that it can be hard to determine where to start. Well, today my guest will discuss how we can just do that.

Sammie Ellard-King's day job is the Director of a hospitality business that owns music venues and bars. He’s a successful investor and his goal is to inspire others through Up The Gains because for Sammie it's not just about the money it's about the freedom it creates to enjoy life.

The Revolutionary Man Podcast - What Is DRIVING Men AWAY From Religion And Towards Atheism Today
play

04/21/25 • 47 min

Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next.

What happens when a scientifically trained mind confronts the evidence for God's existence? Ganesh Venkataramanan, a chemical engineer and technology executive raised in a world of analytical thinking, shares his remarkable journey from atheism to faith—not through emotional experience, but through following scientific evidence to its logical conclusion.
Growing up surrounded by scientists and engineers (his father was a nuclear engineer), Ganesh naturally drifted toward atheism in college, assuming it was the proper stance for an analytical person. The irony? Ten years later, the same evidence-seeking mindset that led him away from faith ultimately brought him back when he confronted three areas where materialistic explanations fell short: the origin of the universe, the origin of life, and the origin of information.
Einstein's theories pointed toward a universe with a beginning—a moment when nothing, not even time itself, existed. This raised the profound question: what caused everything to begin? Similarly, the extraordinary complexity of even the simplest cell defies random formation, with degradation rates of biological components making time an enemy, not an ally, of chance-based origin theories. And the information-packed language of DNA—functioning like complex computer code—points unmistakably toward an intelligent author.
Ganesh walks us through how these scientific realities transformed his understanding of God from an abstract concept to a personal, intelligent Creator who designed with purpose. "It's not about what is my purpose that God can bless, but what is God's purpose that I can participate in."
For those wrestling with questions at the intersection of science and faith, this conversation offers fresh perspective without demanding blind belief. Whether you're a skeptic seeking evidence or a believer looking to strengthen your faith's intellectual foundations, Ganesh's story demonstrates that following evidence honestly can lead to unexpected—and life-altering—conclusions.
