What does it mean to lead a life well-lived? As a palliative care physician, I’m fortunate to witness some of life’s most intimate moments at the bedside of seriously ill--often terminal--patients. There’s an incredible clarity, purpose and meaning that comes with confronting one’s mortality and my mission is to share that with the world so everyone can live their best, most meaningful and fulfilling life. Will there be lots of emotions that bubble up as we have honest, inspiring and sometimes difficult conversations? Of course. There’ll be tears (of joy, and probably regular tears as well, at least on my part), some laughs and lots of stories that will make you feel all the things.

Will it be worth it? Well, what’s worth more than life itself?

The Purpose Filter - The Unbearable Weight Of Expectations
play

08/13/21 • 15 min

You've seen the side by side comparisons: expectations versus reality. Perhaps an online purchase was not as advertised or your cake doesn't turn out like the beautiful recipe you followed.
But how much of what's causing us stress, anxiety, anger and disappointment in life is because of the mismatch between what we thought was going to happen versus what our reality actually is? How does the lens of expectation affect how we view ourselves, our relationships and the world?
Listen to this week's episode to find out how to bridge the gap and find a little more gratitude in this journey we call life.

  • reconnecting the thread of the whole self through past, present and future
  • finding your way back from a place of chaotic overwhelm and feeling "stuck"
  • the importance of maintaining connection while coping with challenging life events

Dr. Sari Green is a physician with a background in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and western medicine, a general surgeon, single mom and certified life coach.
